Food that carries you away, challenges and inspires. Always evoking curiosity as to what the next course will be. Food that re-awakens those long-forgotten memories, or creates new, unforgettable experiences. Food you experience together, discuss together, which connects you to others. The power of simple and pure, and with a deep respect for preparation and flavours. Always the unexpected surprise of the combinations, which are often created at the table itself. The art of omission, the greatest challenge of all. No-nonsense, perfect service, precisely as you would expect here.
Our dinner at FG restaurant was quite a disappointment. The food was good, but compared to other Michelin starred restaurants nothing special (a lot of rather typical "high class" dishes like Kobe beef or lobster with caviar, but there was missing a certain individuality and ingenuity). The service was quite bad, it seemed like they didn't have much knowledge about the food they were serving, and the descriptions were sometimes very bland (e.g. "this is the best olive oil in the world" --> i would expect something more sophisticated and nuanced of a restaurant in that price class). The choosing of salt, pepper and knifes (??) out of many different sorts is strange, as there is no good description of their specific quality/difference etc. This seems more like a gag, and we were rather bewildered that we had to choose stuff all the time (without having proper information about it) instead of enjoying the food. One waiter was also quite intrusive and the whole evening it seemed more like they did a show about how great they were (best olive oil, best beef blabla) than about making the guests feel comfortable. For example we asked if they could do something about the temperature as it was quite cold in the restaurant, and they said yes, but didn't do anything nor did they mention if something was changed etc. which seemed very inattentive. Overall a quite dissatisfying visit and not comparable to other restaurants of this price class. Wouldn't recommend.

The restaurant is situated in one of the so-much-representative-for-the-country windmills, in particular one of the 6 in total "molen" of the picturesque city of Schiedam. The interior is cozy and there are displays of many other windmills from across the Netherlands.
The menu is a bit pricey and you might find yourself waiting for the main course for a bit longer than usual, but the quality of the food is great. Some of the portions might be small while others are just the right size. I personally had a Bigoli pasta and loved it but caution: VERY hot! :)
Staff is friendly and enjoy small talks.

We have received nice hospitality and were seated at the round table. Great service with a smile. The surprise menu had a large number of variation in tastes and included many ingredients, like fish, shellfish and meat. The Peking Duck menu offers different servings of duck partly prepared at the table. We have enjoyed!

This little restaurant is particularly nice for outside dining when the weather is good. Located alongside one of the oldest canals in the city in a quiet historic area, the atmosphere is great. The menu offers a good choice of dishes and wines at various prices and in addition they have specials. Recommended.

If you're a fish lover and enjoy dining out in beautiful surroundings, add this restaurant to your list of must-go when visiting Rotterdam.
We had the pleasure of dining here last night for a celebratory dinner. We live in the area and pass the restaurant daily when out walking the dogs. Last night we were delighted to be on the inside looking out at the occasional passerby.
The food was really truly delicious with every course and each mouthful giving a different flavor. The wine choice was excellent. The service was also excellent as one would expect in a top notch restaurant.
We enjoyed every moment and at the moment of receiving the bill we found it to be very good value for money. Really not too expensive for what you get.
You will need to reserve a table.

I really enjoyed dining in this Japanese restaurant! The atmosphere is really great, the restaurant is very well decorated giving a cosy feeling. All are Japanese waiters and staff, adding to the total experience. The staff is really dedicated and passionate to bring top quality service to clients. We took a menu with 8 to 9 different dishes, food was really great!

This restaurant is on the corner of a historic market square. We visited during a local festival which was not a good thing because the menu was adapted, wine served in plastic cups and there was a line up of visitors from outside waiting at the restrooms. But the food was OK and the service was friendly. Somehow it seems that the restaurant, decorated with Moroccan lamps and platters fixed to the walls. is not making the most of its historic location.

My husband and I decided to head to Scheidam on a Sunday morning(whit Sunday for that matter) and started to walk towards what I guess would be Old Town. There weren't many people out and about and the streets were pretty quiet. We happend to come upon this cafe with 2 of the employees and customer talking outside , they looked at us and we looked at them and asked are you open and they said "Yes". We sat down and ordered some delicious hot chocolate and apple pie and had a great conversation with the customer(sorry I forgot his name) while we were being served. It was a great way to start our morning before heading off to see the tallest windmills. I would love to go back and spend time at the Lunchroom De Beurs again. I can only remember one of the employees names Michael(probably because that's my husbands name), but we were treated well by all.
