I've had the pleasure of eating in many fine restaurants but this one puts most of them to shame. The experience is pure excellence. The two female waitresses are knowledgeable and unbelievably attentive. The sommelier and hostess ,if possible, even more so but more importantly everybody seems to do their job with a sense of love, pride and passion that's unparalleled. You feel welcome from the moment you enter the door of the beautiful old building until long after you've left. The food is on equal par with the excellent service and never skips a beat. the timing is immaculate, the tastes surprising but always balanced and all in all quite simply wonderful. A special mention should be made of he wine paring which was spot on every time!
This restaurant currently has one Micheline star but punches well above it's weight and isn't easily outdone by some 2 and even three star venues. I would happily go here again...and agian... and again .. it truly is ... very close to being perfect.

De Wachter is a relatively small and well decorated restaurant, making the atmosphere cosy ad relaxed. We had the 4 course menu, with 2 amuses (one before the appetisers and one before desert). The courses were all diverse in taste, well balanced and right sized.
Would I go again? Absolutely, even if it means a 50 mile detour.

Nice place, good food, friendly staff. Nice wines available at affordable prices. My favourite in Ridderkerk

The restaurant is open until 11pm. The menu felt a bit uninspired and I settled with vegetarian ravioli. The ravioli was really good but why was it served with French fries and pan fried and broccoli with cheese as sides? The ravioli filled me up and to be healthy I tried the broccoli but it had a funny taste.

Dined here with two coworkers on a Monday evening. I had the curry chicken and rice and my coworkers had the grilled tuna and the catch of the day. We all agreed it was the best dinner we've had in the ten days we've been here. My entree was under 17 Euros and the the other two paid 24.50 and 22.50, respectively. Highly recommend the Bardot!

With 2 friends (total a party of 4) and a bill of 180 for a small piece of meat for me, a large piece of salmon and 2 plates of pasta. The potatoes were old and the sauces were so, so. The waiter was friendly but his co-worker (a young lady of about 25) was very insecure. No typical Italian atmosphere. The website looks fine, the menu looks fine, but in th real world: I am never going back to that restaurant. NOT WORTH. No value for money.

This restaurant actually just opened a month ago. It's located in a former (17th century) inn, in the countryside just south of Rotterdam. We had a lovely dinner on a quiet Tuesday evening. The interior is quite modern, large seats and large poplar wood tables. The food was just lovely, I had cold salad with salmon, scallops and smoked eel, paired with a really nice Riesling. As main course
pheasant, I drank a lovely Spaetburgunder with that. The lady that served us is also one of the owners and the sommelier, and she knew a lot about the wines she served. All in all a really nice dining experience, and I am surely coming back here soon.

OK, prices are somewhat high, burt for that you get friendliness good quality and a cook that knows how to cook. Even small dogs are allowed (we have two Dachshunds and their water was already put in place for them at the table column). Unfortunately they have small choice in Whisky (I prefer 'The Glen Livet'). OK, Dessert: Take the ice cream with the Boerenjongens and the foam pastry. You'll love it.

Great food for a fair price. The setup is a bit old fashioned and crowded but we had a very nice mail with the kids. Plenty of choices for the non fish fans or Veggies like me ;-) and also for the kids. We liked...MoreDear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your review. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your dinner! I hope to welcome you again. Kind regards, Ben Vorsteveld

Last week I had dinner with some collegues of mine. We decided to choose the 3-course menu (€27,50). This menu could be composed of several items, except for those on the speciality menu. All courses served were of a good quality. Service was almost impeccable. Atmosphere was intimate.
I would certainly return for another bite.
