We were celebrating my daughter's 18 years birthday, and got the 10 course menu. It was delicius, no doubt about that, but I might have expected more from a two-star Michelin restaurant. To really appreciate this restaurant, I think the wine menu is a must, as the wines are really spectacular. My husband got the wine menu, and was very happy about everything. The 10 course dinner was really innovative and interesting, but I think it would be difficult for the food in it's very own right to deserve two Michelin stars. The service was very friendly and professional with a few slips here and there. Anyhow, we had a wonderful evening.

We recently visited Ai Mulinars for Sunday dinner based on a friend's recommendation. The restaurant can't be missed as it is located at the beginning of the road that leads up to Le Grotte di Pradis (caves) in Clauzetto. We found ample parking on this Sunday and upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and seated. I found the service to be friendly and efficient.
There are two main dining rooms both warmly decorated with an authentic rustic motif. Antique copper pots and cookware were tastefully suspended from a timber beam ceiling and thick rock mason walls. Outdoor Seating on a covered Terrace was also available for warm weather days. A glowing fireplace added to the overall relaxing atmosphere. Tables were set with fine quality tablecloths and service ware (dishes, glasses and utensils).
Our waiter first described some of the specialties on the menu and he was helpful in making recommendations. The menu listed many tempting regional dishes and focused primarily on meat and wild game. We started our meal with a pasta course that gave us the opportunity to taste three different types of pasta. There was squash Gnocchi served up in melted butter atop a smoked shredded cheese; an eggplant roll-up stuffed with smoked speck (cured meat) and topped with an excellent tomato and basil sauce; and a crepe filled with ricotta cheese and walnuts, topped with a Béchamel sauce. All were extremely tasty, though my favorite was the eggplant roll-up.
For entrees, I enjoyed grilled lamb chops served with grilled radicchio, sautéed spinach and homemade potato chips. The portion consisted of six tender and perfectly grilled chops, served with the bone portion wrapped in aluminum foil for easier eating. My wife enjoyed three venison (cervo) fillets served with a wild cranberry sauce and grilled vegetables. The meat was also perfectly grilled and quite tasty.
All desserts are homemade and I enjoyed an orange torte (crostatta), artistically platted and served with a cup of real whipped cream. My wife's Tiramisu was unremarkable as we prefer a creamier version of this dessert.
Prices were reasonable considering the quality and quantity of food served at Ai Mulinars. Our above meal, plus two aperitifs, two glasses of wine, bottled water and a cafe totaled 84 Euro. Ai Mulinars prominently display a framed 2014 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence at the entrance. I plan on a return visit to Ai Mulinars and I highly recommend this restaurant to the TripAdvisor community.

If you have never heard of the famous Chianina beef then you had better look it up before going to this restaurant. They prepare it exactly as perscribed by the Chianina association. The "T-bone" is cut approximately 2 inches thick and the steak is then sliced up and served individually. They leave the bone so you can gnaw on it later. The meat is flawless, so tender you can cut it with a fork. The only condiment you may need is some olive oil drizzled on top. A reservation has to be made 24 hrs ahead to prepare the meal. A full meal is offered, all based on this prized meat, the tartar is especially good. The owner can a be a little snooty, but it's worth it.

Unforgetable!
Fabrizia created a Vegan food menu only for me!
Roberto found the complimentary wines!
The atmosphere was wonderful and the evening was the highlight of my 3 weeks vacation.
Thanks to Fabrizia I was finally able to eat something else than Pasta with Tomatosauce or grilled vegetables.
Any special food required, call in 24hrs before hand and you will get what your tummy asks for.
Also the standard menu looked great, the choice of wine is unlimited, over 800 different wines at your choice.
Highly recommended, don't miss it when you are in the area!

My third visit to Al Postiglione in 7 years only proved it again: this place is bound to be one of the best restaurants in the FriuliMy area! I have experienced three different owners now, and I can say that Francisco definitely proved to be the best host: wonderful dishes (needless to say that his Paraguay roots can be traced in wonderfully prepared meat variations), paired with a warm and friendly way of making you feel "at home". The fire place was crackling, and everyone made it a
special night for us. I recommend to let Francisco recommend a menu... And, of course, to enjoy the great selection of Perusini wines.

This out-of-the-way restaurant can be found in the upper Friuli, surrounded by the foothills of the Dolomites and beside the great river Tagliamento. It is an outstanding location for an outstanding restaurant. The food was absolutely first class, the service attentive but not cloying, and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. The frico (pictured in the Trattoria's picture) was one of the best I have ever tasted. So Ivana and Secondo are to be congratulated for their success. I highly recommend this restaurant - and it is worth the drive and the trouble to get there, believe me. Absolutely.

We stopped at "Da Otto" for a short lunchbreak, because of all the excellent reviews here on tripadvisor.
The pasta was good, but nothing that you would not get at any proper Italian Restaurant. The latte macciato was only lukewarm and the place itself got the atmosphere of a very basic place.
maybe it is different at dinnertime, but I can not rate the ristorante better then average.

we got here totally by mistake, we were on our way to Venice, you need to put the location in your GPS since its difficult to get there, on our way we drove up the hills and enjoyed an amazing view of the area, you need to just keep on going until you get there...
when we arrived the owner greeted us and we sat in his beautiful garden. he and his wife pick mushrooms and dry them, we ate a delicious pasta dish with mushrooms, sausages and a salad from the vegetables in his garden. after that we ate homemade tirimisu and ice cream. AMAZING!!
this place was incredable, its also a bed and breakfast, a guy staying there went to pick mushrooms with the owners wife and we will definitely come here for our next visit in Italy.
