Travelling through Ponte de Sor and stopped for lunch. Looked up Tripadvisor and this restaurant came in as the top place, so chose this place to eat. Cannot understand what all the hype was about. Average food, average decor, average service. I guess it depends on your expectations and obviously the people dining here before me and giving fabulous reviews have a very different opinion to mine. That is fine also.

Handwritten menu compounded with non English speaking staff made it difficult to translate the menu but they were accommodating and we ordered what we wanted. The place doesn’t not really offer the best food in town but is the closest place for Portuguese food from where we lived. Good to try at least once

Very nice meal on a very simple/tipical restaurant. We enjoy everything we eat, recommend to make a small detour to have a good cheap meal! Thanks

Bem sei que um bitoque não tem grande ciência mas há uns que são melhores que outros e este estava muito bom. Voltarei!

Good restaurant with very friendly service. Excelent soup and pork meat (lagartos) with "migas de coentros".

Personal attention is the keyword at this place; the cook personally explains the menu if you want and makes suggestions.
The food is great and not too expensive and the cook frequently drops by and is open to ideas - you feel at home away from home.

I have not tried everything on the menu but I can tell that they have the best pastels in town. The staff there speak good English and are very welcoming. Good for a light snack and coffee if you’re waiting for the bus at the station nearby.
