The equestrian centre is at Constancia, a delightful historical village located between the Tejo and Zezere rivers. Just one hour from Lisbon two hours from Porto it holds wonderful views framed by Mountains with a rich animal life. You can enjoy the beautiful Lusitano horses riding throughout miles of trails between eucalyptus, pines, olives, cereal fields and the magnificent view of the rivers.
Was our second time this year visiting Antonio, will be booking for next year very soon! can not rave about this place enough the people are great the horses are amazing and the views are beautiful. we went for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed...MoreThanks for your very nice comment. Sure it is a strong motivation for keep trying to be better and better.

Big garden with a large variety of butterflies. It is to observe these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. Guided tour very well organized and comprehensive details given by the guide.

Combining the natural beauty of the river Tagus with a tour of a boat prepared for group travel, to the Castle of Almourol is one of the most interesting trips and with plenty of affluence for its characteristics.
When you have finished your visit to the “Museum Ferroviario in Entroncamento”, this only a few km away from another location you could visit, namely the “Castle of Almourol”. This is in the location “Vila Nova de Barquinha”, and the “Medieval” castle is indicated with road signs. Follow them until you pass a café and a bit further you have a car-park where you can leave the car, this because you are in need to take the small boat to cross the river to the small island on which is the castle it costs about 2.5 € this includes the entrée fee for the castle too. From the riverside you still have a small walk to get to the castle who is at about 18 meters above the level of the river. It is without any furniture but has history tablets on the inside, and by a stairway you can walk until the top of the castle which is giving you some nice views. A very small but anyhow very interesting location to visit.

Honestly I kinda bumped into it on one end not really knowing where I was. I was wondering around with my dog and liked the olive trees.
As I was walking in and finding the shrines it became clear that it was related to the path of Jesus carrying the cross.
It was a sunny Sunday morning around 11am so most people where at the main Cathedral still there were many tourists with guides. Most people were quiet and respectful visiting the path and walking it as it was normal to find people sitting or kneeling in prayer.
The statue of Mary where She first appeared to the three shepherds is very beautiful not to mention the meaning of the spot but furder on the path the one of the shepherds with the Angel is also breathtaking.
Even if you not religious it's a lovely path to walk. Very peaceful with pleasent shades from the olive trees.
I highly recommend a visit alone or with family or friends (just remember to talk in a lower tone) if you are in town or just passing by. ☀️

This is a really unique place with very friendly personnel that is very helpful be it at the Planetarium session or at the Solar Observatory. We just came in after a group of students had left and the got a 1 on 2 guided tour in very good English. That was very kind and lucky as no other student group was waiting.

The Castelo is included in the admission to the convent and there really is no differentiation between toe two. In fact, a doorway is the dividing line.
But as long as it's separate here, the castelo is as interesting as the convento. It was well worth the effort to go rogue on our planned itinerary and detour to Tomar.

Hello travellers, this place is good to eat a good meal with a great view, it has a big parking lot, its quiet place, the staff is friendly and you can eat outside viewing the river and the train that passes in a bridge not nearby.
The food is well cooked, tasty not too expansive(20) per person.
The meat is great but it takes a bit longer to arrive but thats ok
Hope it helps!

We visited here during a recent visit to the area. The park has been very well designed with lots of interesting features. It would be a lovely place to spend a few hours especially with children
