The tourist office recommended this place. It is very quaint, stone built with many rooms leading off. We were treated to a wonderful array of Portuguese food with starters of Parma ham and local cheeses, main course of pork and octopus, we were driving and not able to taste the wine. It was a wonderful experience, attended by English speaking friendly staff and the 'Boss'.
Don't miss this experience.

Having dined here on a regular basis must say this restaurant is well worth a visit. The menu is varied with several unusual dishes and not just the usual Portuguese fare. Far away from everything. We booked as it is list to be an Abrantes restaurant but it’s very far away from Abrantes. Small coffeeshop for locals downstairs and restaurant of the 1st floor. Food is well prepared and tasty but not spectacular. Reasonable wine offer. Service is great. Décor also very nice. 15€ per person. Overall the location kills it

This is a very small place, a bit difficult to find (no commercial sign, as far as I remember!), but well worth it if you find yourself in Abrantes. It does what it says on the tin: home-made ice-cream, various flavours, heaped in abundance. I tried many flavours and I liked them all. Convenient price, sweet old owners, if a bit run-down (both the owners and the place:-)).

Inside the village of Pego a friendly house, where you can taste the food from the área close to the river Tejo, with small fish friden and house made bread, not speaking about cod fish and migas.

we went for lunch on a Sunday and the service and food were excellent once again. The road is quite long to get there but it is worth while taking the trip: Service is amazing and attentive, food fresh and plentyful: Wines are not expensive
