The vibrancy of Pereira is due in part to its large population of students, who roam the European-style streets in search of coffee, cheap eats or ways to blow off steam between exams. Explore the nature walks of El Cedral eco-park, then marvel at the exotic creatures you’ll find at both the Zoo Matecaña and the nightclubs of Avenida Simón Bolivar. Pereira is one of the three cities comprising Colombia’s “coffee triangle,” so a perfect cup is never too far away.

A very nice roof support with cleverly dovetailed members is really the reason to visit this church. Apparently the roof was raised and the lower portion is more recent . Excellent woodwork. Interestingly there is no transept in this church just the nave.

We were there on Sunday morning after attending the adjacent church. We envisioned food carts after Reading other reviews. There weren’t any on Sunday. The cafes close to the plaza were not good. We would not recommend going here to other people. There are so many other things to see in the area, I wouldn’t waste my time again.

This is the newly built Zoo for Pereira, where the animals from the previous Zoo are being transferred. the grounds are beautiful but they are not so many animals yet. So you would be visiting a zoo that has 30% of is occupancy capacity. I would wait one more year before paying the high price for a theme park.

Mall ideal for tourists who want to know all the gastronomic culture and personality of the city of Pereira.
This place has everything -- all the name brand's you'd expect. Plus the food court is good, and there's even a selection of about 3 or 4 bars. There's a multi-cineplex on the top floor. Also a play/entertainment area for kids. And even a casino in the mall. Truly something for everyone.

One of the best spots for high altitude training in caldas and risaralda, you can go up to 4950 meters above sea level, a real challenge if you want to gain some cardiovascular strength,
We choose PARAMO TREK from Salento, they have very good guides, who usually runs ultra marathons

We visited during Semana Santa (Easter) and the while the park was buzzing with activity, it wasn't overcrowded in any way. The Fountains were clean, and there was no rubbish. There are nice shady arches to rest under and a small little bar with beer and cocktails in the corner. During soccer matches, they place a TV on the outside wall for people to watch the game while enjoying a cold drink.
