Award winning breakfasts, idyllic location!
Went out for late breakfast following a bucks weekend with a group of seven. The service was great; polite and fast. Food orders came out quick. I had the Pumpkin Okonomiyaki. The pork belly was great, the pickles were great, the sauces were great, and the flavour of the Okonomiyaki was great. But the texture was just not right. Get that right and these guys are a five.

Merimbula RSL Club is in the heart of beautiful coastal region known as the NSW Sapphire Coast. We are a relaxed family friendly club with stunning views over the lake and ocean. With an excellent rating on TripAdvisor our club has something for everyone including a restaurant, cafe, sports bar, bottleshop and free live entertainment. Members of our GEM rewards program enjoy many benefits and we offer free fully-supervised child minding. We can also cater for any type of special function whether its celebrating your special wedding day, conference, business training, workshop, party or special occasion. We’re friendly, we’re fun and we are one big family. The Merimbula RSL truly offers ‘something for everyone’!
We visited Merimbula RSL Club as an adult family group. We weren't disappointed. Eschewing the Sunday roast (seriously overcooked and decidedly unappetising looking) opted for the Thai noodles instead. They were terrific if a trifle under provided with chilli heat, but never mind, this is an RSL club after all. The venue is terrific, no daggy carpet here, but a beautiful design taking its theme from the inter tidal sea floor and no surprise because the view through their panoramic windows is a seascape with rolling hills. Having skipped the really filling offerings, there was room for sweets and these were terrific. Bring a seriously empty stomach. This place is going to fill it up big time!

Club Sapphire Merimbula has an inviting combination of sophisticated dining, three relaxing leisure lounge areas, exciting programmes of auditorium entertainment, spacious function rooms for wedding receptions and conferencing, a complete health and fitness centre and first class bowling greens, free courtesy bus and free childminding. It's The Entertainment Centre.
Usually I stick with the normal portahouse steak (which is usually small in portion but tastes great) this time however i decided upon something different. What a mistake that was. Both my husband and I decided on the Chicken Parma... it wasn’t nice at all. The chips were all stuck together, and the Parma wasn’t good at all.
Usually my family and I come here for our outings which due to circumstances we don’t go out very much. For the $60+ that the food cost, I was very disappointed.
Don’t get me wrong it won’t deter us from coming here, it was just disappointing. (But my children LOVED the chicken nuggets)

Booked for lunch and were not disappointed. Staff were excellent, attentive and knowledgable. The view is always lovely here and also the atmosphere. A wedding party was on in a side room but did not affect service. Two salt and pepper calamari and two snapper oven baked were excellent along with a bowl of sweet potato chips. Highly recommended.

Pier one Bar and grill located upstairs across the road from Mc Donald's. Stunning views of Merimbula lake by day and warm up by the log fire by night. Beautiful food cooked with loved all at prices you can afford. Lunch and dinner service.
Visited on the day after Boxing Day and unfortunately there was not much to choose from. Found Pier One was open and they had an available table. The food choices on the menu were limited and quite exquisite. For those who prefer your more average range of seafood dishes, this is not the place. The prices matched accordingly. We enjoyed grilled fish at a cafe the following night that was much nicer, and less expensive than here. The staff were friendly and the location was niche

We tried this place and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. The quality of the food was outstanding and the pizzas were exceptional at a great price.
Service was really good. Affogatos were short on ice cream but the staff quickly fixed this with no complaint. All round a highly recommendable experience.

A house of delectable's that sells handmade chocolates, Icecream made on the premises, with pancakes and a great selection of coffees.
Took the family for gelato and coffee. Gelato and coffee were fine, however was dismayed to be told "cash only" and not offered a receipt after being directed to get cash from the ATM at the bank next door. In this day and age it leaves a bad taste in the mouth for a well-established business to be running a cash-only operation. Won't be back just because of this.

I was determined not to like this place.
Admittedly, the view from the place is lovely. You can either dine inside or outside in a protected footpath setting. There are even umbrellas outside, so not all of your table is sitting in the direct sun.
The menu is simple in that there are limited dishes. Instead of having 20 options they only have a few - but then they are done exceedingly well by all accounts.
I had the Cajun Fish and salad with sweet potato chips. Just beautiful. I am a large eater, but this meal almost beat me.
Whilst the water was 'help yourself' from a cooler, the waitress was kind enough to bring me a glass without being asked. That's a nod.
The thing though that really upsets me and made me determined not to enjoy my stay was the payment options. We are in the 21st century where very few people carry cash and yet, they have a penalty for paying by card. In fact, they have two penalties. If your payment is by card and under $15 dollars (and how many meals are going to be under that!) there is an immediate fee and if it is over $15 there is a higher price. Now some may say, stop ya complaining, it's only 12cents. But it is mine. The meal was not cheap to begin with, so it is not a 'cheap eats' diner, a burger being $18 etc so any extra fee is a bit rich. Then, not only that but there is also another percentage fee added to the amount according to a sign next to the eftpos machine. 1.7 or 2.4 percent depending on what card or what account.
Yes, the meal was lovely, but I will not be going back. Come into the 21st century and don't slug us more. This is not America where they continually add more to the price. If I order an $18 meal, that's all I want to pay.
A local lady recommended this place for breakfast, it was within walking distance to my accommodation. There is usually quite a good turnout for this cafe. Plentiful parking across the road. Beach within walking distance and across from a large park.

This ‘Mexican’ restaurant sits in a nice location in the coastal town of Merimbula. If you are looking for Mexican food, however, you better stay away from this highly priced place that offers mediocre Mexican food. Portions are large but the taste of most dishes we tried was very ordinary. The Chimichanga was worst and the fish of the day, Tuna steak was over cooked. I recommend to eat here if you like large serves of greasy food but you don’t care much about taste or authenticity. In my view a place to avoid unless they change their chef and take the notion of Mexican food more seriously.

A season beach kiosk, overlooking the beautiful Bar Beach in Merimbula. Open from late September through to late April. Closed Mondays. Cash only.
Wow we were pleasantly surprised by what a small cafe by the beach can produce. We ate a mushroom toastie and tandoori cauliflower toastie both of which were extremely tasty. Kids had bacon and egg rolls - they thought the buns were a little fancy for them (and tasted peppery) but we thought they were great. Reasonably priced milkshakes and iced coffees ($5 each) which was a nice change.
The view from the tables was the best in Merimbula. I highly recommend a visit to the kiosk and a swim in the Bar Beach...
