Lillehammer gained international fame as the host of the 1994 Winter Olympic Games. Since then, tourism has flourished in this Norwegian city. Skiing is excellent, of course, but even non-skiers can experience the thrill of the slopes by taking a lift to the top of Lysgårdsbakken Olympic ski jump site. Explore the awesome collections and structures of the Maihaugen open-air museum or hike the Fåberg Cultural Trail to the site of ancient petroglyphs.

Closed in 1983 - reopened in 2006. A short summary of something sorely missed. However, thanks to the efforts of local enthusiasts, with a passion for history, culture and quality beer, the wait is over and Lillehammer Bryggeri has been reborn. The brewery operates on a smaller scale, but the beer is better - a lot better. Visit our pub and restaurant, and you will discover this for yourself. We are located in premises built in the 1850s, on a site where first a distillery was established and then a brewery in 1847. Originally, this was home to Hammer'n, a cotter's farm belonging to Hammer Farm from which the town derives its name. Lillehammer Bryggeri aims to provide its customers with an interesting environment reflecting the town's cultural and industrial history. An area we are particularly passionate about is the advancement and development of industry along the Mesna river. The river, which flows through the heart of the town, has long been the lifeblood of the local community. Drop in and expand your knowledge of Lillehammer and its history, and at the same time enjoy our locally produced food and beverages. The brewery is fully licensed, and has a 120-people capacity. In unique surroundings our guests are able to feel, touch and taste the town's history - from beer and food to stories about the first coppersmith and modern-day events such as the 17th Winter Olympics.
We dined here two nights end of January, On both nights the place was all for ourselves and we really enjoyed that. The lady at the bar Olga, was very nice to us; she explained the type of local beers they produce and as i was curious she told me about the nicknack they have in their cabinets. These photos and memorabilia about the past history of the local people and economic activities bring the place alive. It is very charming with a vault ceiling as it used to be a cellar for storing the tank of beer the factory produced.
We enjoyed the food, We wanted to eat something typical Norwegian, we had the meat platter, baccalao and the mousse stew. We enjoyed everything.
We tried several of their beers and it is nice to taste a fresh beer with a strong taste. Not to mention the acquavit, we tried the sweet and dry ones.
All in all, we would highly recommend this place. It has retained a genuine feel about itself. Most of other places are more commercially driven. in addition I would say it is value for money compared to other places

We found this delightful restaurant while walking toward the ski jump and stopped in for lunch. Since it was a nice day we sat outside and shared the hamburger and the pig knuckles. The burger was delicious and featured a unique sauce and the usual pickles and tomatoes. One of the best I’ve ever had. The lamb shanks were small but well prepared. It was a wonderful break in the day to sit on the patio and eat (and sip our delicious cold beers) while listening to the adjacent river rumbling down below. There is also inside Seating.

Hvelvet means The Vault. Youn can eat here where the Norwegian gold was stored for some days in April 1940 when German troops were trazing the Norwegian King, the Government escaping from Oslo . 25 tons of gold followed from the National Bank of Norway. The gold came to London and stayed there during there war.
The restaurant has two levels and is one of very few restaurants in Lillehammer with a higher standard and seams to survive. The food is good, the wine cellar even better and the interior is a bit dark or somber.

Ming Restaurant is a well-established Chinese restaurant on the Northern end of Lillehammers main road with many years of happy customers behind it. A balance of experienced quality service and a high quality kitchen make every visit both highly enjoyable and rewarding. The menu contains both Chinese and Asian dishes, all of which are served in generous portions at reasonable prices.
The food was good, but not excellent. The service and the atmosphere was great! My food was less tasty than I wanted and expected. They don't really make it spicy at all.

The restaurant is one of the town's most popular, and is located in the old Lillehammer Brewery's beer cellar dating back to 1855. Guests can enjoy the best a la carte menu in town, but remember to make a reservation when you are planning a visit. The elegant bar is located in the heart of the establishment, and is a popular meeting place for anyone looking to enjoy a beer or Gin and Tonic in an old-world setting. A large selection of wines from our extensive wine cellar is also available.
Because we were seated next to a group of 12 people which was quite noisy, our waitor offered us a calmer table which we gladly accepted. We had good steaks and a very good dessert recommendation.

Incidentally passing Lillehammer, we were pleasantly surprised by this Chinese restaurant that offered genuine and deliciously prepared Chinese dishes. The service was professional and very friendly and we enjoyed the pleasant ambiance sitting outside on the mosquito-free Terrace. We all four recommend this pleasant restaurant.

After arriving into Lillehammer via train and taking a three minute stroll, you begin to see the sweet quaintness Lillehammer has to offer. Another minute of walking and you meet the historic Kulturhuset Banken, the culture house of Lillehammer. Set on the first floor of Kulturhuset Banken you will find Cafe Stift. In warmer months, the cafe expands onto the front stone courtyard of the building, creating a perfect alfresco feel to enjoy the great outdoors. Inside the cafe, you can see and feel the timeless culture. Having been built in 1895, with high ceilings, antique chandeliers, original windows and woodwork, you wish the walls could talk. The natural and classic environment set by the Kulturhuset Banken combined with Cafe Stifts' new and original vibe sets an undeniable atmosphere, adding to the lovely Lillehammer, to enjoy within the company of a friend, family, or yourself. Hjertelig velkommen til oss på Cafe Stiff!

This place have a large outdoor Seating area.. Often with lots of people on busy summer days. The food was alright and the beer even better. A little pricy but the garden/park-feeling is totally worth it.
The staff are friendly, mostly organized and service is usually with a smile. Also a good place to meet some new friends or listen to random Concerts or events. Try it!

At our restaurant you can relax and enjoy time alone or with friends, family or colleagues. We have a various meny with international and local food. Eather if you will have a good lunch a ordinary dinner or just coffe and a homemade cake we are the place for you. Welcome to the Stasjonen – at the Railway Station in the downtown of Lillehammer.
We had reserved for dinner with over 40 people. But we reached hours late. But they are very flexible, especially for Norwegian standard. Also unusual the usual fish, mostly tasteless and expensive in Norwegian Restaurants was quite economical and had great taste with a special gravy. The girls were attending quick and with a very friendly and personal attitude. OK, as in most Norwegian Restaurants. No desert available. Not even the local cookies. There was even time for a stroll through the pedestrian area with lively pups in two minutes walking distance
