We decided for a dinner in this restaurant because a good rating was in trippadvisor. Food was OK, but no surprises if we would like something rediscover. Interior was as in a cellar can imagine, also no surprises. Maybe owner could think more about smaller, specific details, possibilities for development are there.

We ate good although not unforgettable hamburgers in Stender's but chose it mainly to climb to the second floor of this wooden restaurant, with its prominent and unmistakable Terrace which offers a nice view over the other buildings around.
The waitress was kind and the service rather quick.

Restaurant "Metropole" has been operating in this building since 1910. Home of the famous "Kuldiga" salad and "Metropole" venison burger, it has survived three fires and a ghost, but is still operating in the heart of Kuldiga old town. The restaurant serves fresh international and local food. It's speciality is venison, fresh, local fish. The menu is seasonal and food can be paired with local wine, beer and special cocktails. In the summer on the weekends there is live piano music, and the restaurant is very children friendly. Great place to relax and experience local cousine.
This is probably the best restaurant in Kuldiga. They have vegetarian main courses as well as meat and game dishes. I ate about five meals here, trying different dishes and each time it was good. Everything was also very reasonably priced.
They also have a nice Terrace in the back. But if it is cold, the restaurant inside is also nice.

We stopped over for a night in Kuldiga and had an excellent dinner in this restaurant.
The food was really tasty, service kind and helpful and it was just the perfect place to spend a cozy evening overlooking the brodge and waterfall. Great deal, would recomend to averyone who might stop there.

We were very lucky to come across this place. The food was great (but not very healthy), and the waiter was the friendliest person we've met through the whole day. The place is also ridiculously cheap, a dinner for five people cost us less than 30€.

Lovely restaurant with excellent food. The portions are big and the prices very reasonable. The staff very friendly, too. Nothing was asked to much and they did not even say anything when our son covered the whole tablecloth in chocolate. I was relieved to see the waitress laugh about it.
My parents went there as well and loved it, too. We can only recommend this place.

We had a really nice breakfast here. They make pancakes with various fillings as well as cakes, cupcakes, milkshakes and all kinds of delicious foods. The decor is really fancy and there is outdoor Seating as well.
The owners are really nice people and they also rent great apartments above the cafe.

Goldingen Room is a great restaurant in a beautiful setting and town. The interior is unique and designed with modern style while keeping some of the antique touches from the past.
The food was delightful, service great...definitely worth making a reservation if you're planning to go over the weekend. Big bonus - was able to go with my dog, which in Latvia is not always the case...and immediately they brought water for the dog.
The food was truly tasty, we all ordered different starters and for the main - four of us ordered pizza (excellent, made in wood burning oven) and one a duck breast. This is where some of my issues with the service started - I find it really bad that everyone has their started or main course, expect for one person!!! You cannot bring four pizzas, and make the other person wait for nearly 15min for their food.
The restaurant really needs to sort out their order of service!!!
Otherwise, it's a fantastic place; something very different for Latvia and that's truly love.

Pīlādzītis is a typical Latvian restaurant it has experience major reconstraction and now serves large variety of national dishes with Italian touch. The place is owned by cycling world champion Romans Vainsteins he is serving clients in the bar and it is a great chance to chat with him creating a very interesting atmosphere.
