Kuldiga is a small but very nice city and the attraction number one - waterfall. Actually this is a small waterfall, I mean not height but long in width. Waterfall goes trough river with beautiful bridge and good view to take some photo shots.

While visiting friends in Kuldiga, this was one of the first attractions, which they showed us. This is just adjacent to the Venta Waterfalls, so it is like a huge park and garden dotted with beautiful sculptures placed in strategical locations in the whole area. From the park, you can in fact walk down some steps to the Waterfalls. This place is beautiful and relaxing and incredibly well trimmed and clean - we did not see a single bit of trash anywhere. Kuldigans are apparently very proud of this oasis located in the old town. There are benches and nice, cosy areas, where one can sit and just enjoy the peaceful and green surroundings. This is definitely, the heart of the town of Kuldiga.

Would like to recommend to see those caves. Getting inside lighting just a candle atmosphere is strange.
Rely only on the guide accompanying.
There's one temperature all year long inside.
Caves consist of several narrow and not so narrow, high ceiling and very low ceiling dark places. There are as well some little animals living.
Hope it's safe to walk inside. As on the top of caves there's a lot of heavy sand pressuring. People are walking a lot there...
Recommend to see while it's open.

The museum is a great place to get a sense of Kuldiga's past. It has paintings and displays of artefacts from the past. Kuldiga's architecture and streets make this a must see city in Latvia.

Marmots are the largest ground squirrels, who can be described as big sleepyheads, because the coldest wintertime they spend in their lairs, but in the rest of the time they are eating very active in order to amass large quantities of fat, which could be used again in the winter. Probably many people have seen the funny film „Groundhog Day” with participation of famous groundhog named Phil
Nice place to spend with your family, you can feed the marmots and pet them. Hostess very good care of the animals, each animal has a name. Picnic area and wi-fi are available.

If not for our Latvian friends who brought us to this place, we would have not discovered this architectural gem, which was previously a Jewish Synagogue, and is now beautifully restored and used as a public library. The exterior and interior of the building are restored with success. The windows of the building serve as an excellent frame to the most beautiful roof top views of the old town. The children's department on the top floor provides a very good view of the ceiling decorations, which use the herring bone design in abundance. The interior set-up of the building utilizes light streaming from the high windows from all sides. This makes the interior of the library light and pleasant to be in, with comfortable lounge chairs and tables, where the visitor can enjoy a good read, browse at the huge collection of books or use the free computers which were readily available. Who wants to surf the internet at home, when you can do it in such fine and pleasant surroundings?

Pelci is one little village in Latvia, Kurzeme region but with interesting history , legends , interesting local people. There is Pelci Castle which is one of the important thing in this village. I prefer to see this place because I spent already 2-3 month here, Kuldiga and Pelci.
Pelči Palace (Latvian: Pelču muižas pils; German: Schloss Pelzen) is a palace located in the region of Kurzeme (formerly Courland), in western Latvia. Built during the time of Prince Anatoly Lieven, it is regarded as one of the early Latvian manors which felt the influence of early Art Nouveau, although presently it also shows German Neo-Renaissance.and Baroque features.

This artistic pillar is remarkable and meaningful.
A laser beam points to the sky at night. A video plays snippets of local leading figures giving spiritual and moral encouragement to Kuldigas residents. Inscriptions inspire faith and belief in God.
That a city should create itself an identity pillar, with so many people involved in its creation is outstandingly positive. What a wonderful thing to have in the centre of a town - may it inspire many similar ones.

Looks huge from the outside, but the inside is surprisingly small. However, it is very beautiful. Asides from having a look around or performing more appropriate church activities, there is not really much to do here. But a very nice building.
