I was there mid December. The pizza is average, a bit bland . Two of our friends arrived later, around 22:15, the place was still busy, but the owner had to have a discussion/ argument with the staff to make the pizza's. When was done was worst then the first ones. Like I said not only average, bland but also overpriced!

We've been customer with the MEisen family since they opened long years ago. The food is always tasty, freshly prepared. Very good venue for parties, celebrations, christmas parties etc. Also very nice for some nice hours with your partner in an cosy environment.

This is a typical German brewery; they serve some of the best beer in the region and excellent food to accompany the drinks. The place is relaxed, with brewing equipment and regional decoration on the walls. The restaurant was full and the service was very good. They serve beer in different sizes but you have to try it in the liter glass. As an appetizer the Flammkuchen “klassisch” is spectacular, similar to a pizza but with thinner and lighter crust, topped with a sour cream, bacon and onions. The big pork knuckle is a very good and very traditional option for entrée.
If you are in the area this is a must.

Our favorite Thai Restaurant when we are in that region of Germany. Beautiful location next to the dam (Aggertalsperre) - a rural area with nice walking opportunities around and a nice interior with a lot of bamboo as well.
The menu has a spicyness rating from one chili up to three chilis - which means you can expext the authentic spicyness known from Thailand if you chose a main course with 2 or 3 chilis.
For me the flat screen showing a Thailand image film wouldn't have been necessary, but it didn't disturb me wither - was without sound.
The food is really yummy and - according to my experience in Thailand - quite authentic.

I've been customer with Vitus, the restaurant owner since long years. He makes us specially
welcome every time. The food is more than plenty and very tasteful.
If you like Steak or traditional Greek Cusine - very good.
Service is absolutly friendly, realtivly quick. For thirsty diners - please order 2 drinks in advance or go for large.
Best Value for Money in Gummersbach.

We visited midweek, midday. Restaurant was nearly empty. The food for 4 guests was disgusting.
Looked good, but tasted no good. For this type of price, you can expect fresh, tasty food all the time. The pizza had no taste but a taste, like rotten fish smells. The "Schnitzel " was done in
the fryer, big, but it did not taste good. The sauce was full of peppercorns and needed refining.
The served soup was cold and not of much taste.
We are customers with this restaurant and previous place since long years. In my opinion, the
quality moved in the wrong direction.

At least for me.
I drove something like 10 around to find it on the campus. It's a decent location with quite some good veggie options, slightly Spanish/Italien touched, burgers as well. I took some cheese starter with olives and a veggie tart with goat cheese. It was good.
I think I'll come back.

we went to this restaurant by sheer chance whilst on a short break in Gummersbach. Right from the word go when entering the restaurant we we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff. We only ordered pizzas and house wine ( which tasted better then some bottled wines I have ordered in the past) but weren't treated any less than if we had ordered a 3 course steak dinner. The pizzas were excellent and we were even given a free grappa at the end of the meal. Would I eat here again? Absolutely! Just try and stop me! Well done guys!

If you want to visit a traditional German coffee café - Konditorei - in Gummersbach, you should visit Hecker in the main shopping street. Very nice Kuchen und Torten of top quality, coffee - cappuccino OK for coffee in Germany - I asked a stronger Cappuccino. Straight forward personal. We were there at noon Saturday afternoon, real rush hour. But everybody get to be served within 5 minutes. Perfect.
