The astonishing dam was built only in 2 years, and that is almost 100 years ago - amazing! On the ``dry`` side of the dam we climb down and then up the ``hill``.

This is a real adventure for people without fear of heights. The gyrocopter is a mixture of an airplane and a helicopter. The gyrocopter has the advantages of both without the disadvantages. It starts and lands nearly like a helicopter. An engine failure doesn’t lead to a problem, the aircraft will descend slowly and land. The company “flugluft.de” located at the airfield of Meinerzhagen is offering trial flights with the gyrocopter of 30 or 45 minutes over the lovely countryside. You can even take over the stick and fly all the time. I did it and it was awesome.

Park of Birds and Monkeys located on Reichshof – Eckenhagen, a little town close to Cologne, that’s a 70 km trip. Inaugurated in 1972, now has more than 1000 animals and it’s a paradise for children's 'cause most of animals do not stay in cages and a lot of beautiful birds fly over our heads. We can feed almost all the animals, like goats, otters and ostrich, but it’s important pay attention to the signs because they can’t eat everything. The park has a big area with aquatic toys, a vegetable garden, a game room, etc. They have two great restaurants and open every day including holidays.

This is a clean new (about a year old in 2016) mall in the town of Gummersbach. It's a small little mall, but if you are in a pinch and need your mall fix, you can find most things here. The businesses and shop keepers are friendly and helpful. The food court offerings was fresh. There was even a handful of toddler/kiddy rides for the very young ones. Outside of the mall there are nearby cafes and a little water Fountain structure that little children play in to the backdrop of a church.

In the bunte Kirche in Lieberhausen we looked at the beautiful mediaeval mural paintings that are still very clear to see. The church is open every day, we were there on Good Friday and welcome to have a look and walk around. Especcially beautiful is the picture with the weighing scale. Almost all the walls are covered with these paintings, so well known in France but also to be seen in Germany. One is allowed to take pictures. When in this area, about 30 km east of Koln, take a detour to visit this church.

The St. Apollinaris church was ordained in 1797. In 1801 followed the secession of the parish of Lindlar, a while later it was abrogated, once and for all finally in 1812 complete separation, under strong involvement of Pastor Johann Peter Ommerborn. The church built in 1848-1850 burned down after lightning struck in 1897. A new church was built in 1898 under Pastor Matthias Schmitz. Boxing Day1926 collapsed parts of the Church ceiling. The current church was built in 1927-1928 (Professor Dominikus Böhm). Decoration was carried out over the years by collection of voluntary funds: 8 stained-glass Windows in the nave, new choir-Windows, 25 large church-benches, enlargement of the Nothelferkapelle, sculptures, repair of the organ and new stations of the cross.

Nichts für Handicap People ohne kräftige Begleitung da unwegsames Bahngelände.
