WELCOME BRASSERIET is a cozy lunch and a la carte restaurant, idyllically situated on the harbor in Gilleleje, where yachts mingle with the busy fishermen Meals can be enjoyed in the restaurant on the first floor with stunning views to Gilleleje Harbour and the Swedish coast,. There is a restaurant in the ground floor overlooking the drying ground and in the summer you can also dine in our charming courtyard or cozy passage. Welcome and bon appetit
Lunch with dear friends in this charmingly quaint port-town was fantastic! Known for their hearty rye bread, this small cozy restaurant served us creatively presented fish & chips, traditional Danish open-faced sandwiches and ice cold beer.

Traditional food combined with the desire to experiment. These are two of the main ingredients in the successful recipe for restaurant Gilleleje Havn, which over the last couple of years has become well-known throughout Scandinavia for its famous rye bread.
Right next to the harbor this small restaurant is situated. Actually there are two different establishments - one is the restaurant and the other is a "inn" setting.
We had lunch in the restaurant, where you if you are lucky or have Reservations can get on of the cozy booths that are situated in the front - where each has a set of double Glass doors enabling an absolutely lovely view over the small fishing habor and where you can also see the coastline of Sweden in the background. So if it is a bit overcast you should reserve a booth or if only two and the weather is playing along get one just outside however those only seat two.
I really like this restaurant it is stylishly appointed - from the cutlery to the paintings on the walls. Service is very friendly and engaged even when busy - and they are. The food is off-course still the center piece and is find mixture of classic lunch favorites open faced sandwiches through a tapas like serving ala Denmark over fish and chips, to their own variant of burgers. Not a huge card - but everything made inhouse, and done well. Also a good selection of beverages obviously no matter your preference.
Maybe it should be noted that this is a favorite of many in this well heeled part of northern Zealand so it can be a good idea to reserve a table. Also as a last piece of advice if they are selling some of their bread and other baked goods outside do indulge yourself a bit - I don't think you will be disappointed.
Highly recommended!

We arrived into Gilleleje as total newcomers to this northern part of this Danish Island. The town looks delightful on a wonderful sunny day. We wandered down to the harbour and came across Adamsen's. We lined up with others and fortunately the gentleman who took the order spoke English (we're from Australia). We ordered one serve of plaice & prawns with salad on bread as well as two medium size beers. Cost was $189 Kr (about $38 AUD). We were given a beeper & found a table under big umbrellas in glorious weather. Once the beeper went off (about 10 minutes), we collected the meal (see photos).
It was delicious and once finished, some young lads collected trays & plates to help avoid the seagulls invading!
Definitely recommend this casual dining experience.

Tis is an ok restaurant where the view and the outdoor ambiance is the best. Service was good food was ordinary and unfortunately with little taste. The Beef Tatar however was extremely well prepared Presentation however was pretty especially at the buffet. They only serve ordinary filter coffee

Just had tea and an apple crumble like dessert. The place only had one kind of coffee (black) and one kind of tea (earl grey) both of them from some supermarket no name variety. The dessert was the store bought kind, sweet canned apples, sweetened cream and sugar coated crumbles. Not really my cup of tea. Service was hilarious - the whole restaurant was empty but we witnessed the waitress give a couple without Reservations a hard time placing them at a table. So funny. I can not comment on the food as the dessert, empty restaurant, funny service kind of put us off. The restaurant could use a little care but the view was really nice.

We tried Saseline for a late lunch, and the place was medium full when we arrived.
Waiting a bit for a waiter for a waiter to arrive, we finally got the attention of one of the two and asked for menus. They never came.
We went to the counter to grab them and got a semi-appology from the other waiter. Returning to our tables we waited ten minutes to give our order, at which point we gave up and returned to the counter to place our orders.
Food is classic cafe-style: sandwiches, burgers, and so on and is good with ample portions.
Unfortunately we had to return to the counter in order to get our drinks served.
All in all; good decent food but somewhat indifferent waiters. This being a tourist-town in the summer, you get the feeling that the staff dont really care what you think, as a new batch of customers are always rolling in.
A shame, really.

Small cafe with a unique location on the harbor in Gilleleje, where the active fishermen, boat builders and marine painters can be followed from the Terrace and balcony while there enjoyed salads, tapas , sandwiches , coffee , cake and a good selection of ales and wines. In clear weather there are views to Kullen. The kitchen closes one hour before the closing time of the cafe.

The Cafe is closed from 22nd of December to 29th of December.
Our small group stopped for lunch after visiting Fredericksborg Castle.
Easily, the best lunch so far on our tour of Scandinavia. Fresh bread baked daily, veal was great and desert was ice cream and fresh berries.
Friendly, efficient staff and an outdoor patio weather permitting.
Highly recommend.

BY C Jewellery is a small goldsmith and coffeeshop. Just across the shop is our workshop where all the jewellery are created. Drop by to see the process or enjoy a cup of coffee in the shop. We have fresh roasted coffee from Risteriet, brownies with golden dust, beer, cava, juice...
Enjoy this lovely little cafe/jewellery next to "Kanalen" where you can sit indoor or outdoor. The coffee is great and you can combine coffee with a footbath! Only a few steps a way you can see how the jewellery is made.

BOLVÆRKET - THE FREE-AND-EASY EATING PLACE OF KULTURHAVN Gilleleje Inspired by the Danish and Italian cuisine, we offer well-prepared food made from fresh produce. From a large wood stove we serve gourmet pizzas with thin and crispy wholegrain bottoms, fresh mozzarella cheese and choice of fillings in Roman tradition. If your preference is a cup of Italian coffee and a piece of cake, that is also available.
This restaurant simply serves outstanding pizzas, salads and interesting local cuisine. The pizzas are handcrafted by master Italians and cooked in an authentic wood fired pizza oven to absolute perfection. Only the finest ingredients are used here and I have never had a disappointing meal here. The accompanying dishes are similarly high quality and worth the trip from Copenhagen, in fact the restaurant is so good its worth the trip from anywhere in Scandinavia.
