This is an unusual place lit with candles and serving beer in glasses that don't have a flat bottom. Great beer on tap, especially the non alcoholic wheat beer that is a blessing for the driver. The staff are helpful, and though the English menu is not as pretty and a bit out of date, they are happy to try to help translate the newer items.

We sat on the Terrace and were treated to very attentive service. The large sampler platter of starters was excellent! The flavors were complex and everything was especially fresh and delicious. The waiter suggested we switch from our retsina to a northern Greek Chardoney and we were not disappointed. The main course fish platter was fresh and delicious as well. This is a busy place so you might want to reserve especially if you want to sit outside.

We stayed in the hotel for the Christmas weekend and eat here on Christmas night. We ordered one full main dish and 4 tapas dishes. Everything was great. Portions were fine and presented nicely. The tapas were tasty and 4-5 are decent for 2 for dinner. Service is good. They have a rather good wine list! Plenty to choose from. The bar area is beautiful and the restaurant was set up very nice. The bartenders were great when we went in for just drinks the next day aftre walking around town. Definitely would eat here again. Very nice surprise!

Firstly, the food was quite good. I had spaghetti with seafood which came with a generous amount of calamari, prawns etc. However, I was unhappy with the fact that as a solo customer, I was seated outside of the main room of the restaurant when there were clearly tables available. It felt a bit isolating and did not make me feel valued as a customer. I had to wait a long time to order, nobody enquired if everything was to my satisfaction during the meal and nobody approached me once I was given my main course. I eventually had to approach the till to pay. By the time I had paid, most of the restaurant had been vacated so therefore there was no understandable reason for the poor service. People want to feel valued as a paying customer. It did not happen in this case.

Enjoy excellent food in one of the best the well-known italian restaurant of Germany. The typical Italian ambience creates a comfortable environment. Here you will eat really good Italian food, here you are welcome. From homemade pasta dish or delicate fish dish to traditiaonal pizza made in a wood stove - the high gastronomical standart is noticeable in every moment... Enjoy additionally excellent Italian wines, Cannonau di Sardegna, Rosso Veronese Masi, Brunello d' Montalcino or a Vernacchia.Do you like original italian pizza? The distinctivly taste of our pizza came from the flavour of wood and the baking in our pizza-oven.
What is an Italian restaurant without Italian beer ? The Italian insalada di pomodori (tomato salad) was made like a greek salad with Feta cheese and chopped leek (who had been chopped some days ago) The Pizza Caprese was ordinary. Vital tonato was okay. Poor service. The only plus was that we were sitting outside and that there were smoker and none smoker areas - unfortunately were we not told by the waiter, so we, as none smoker, sat in smoking area, because all seat were taken in the none smoking area.

At the "Landgrafenstube" that has repeatedly been decorated for its excellence we will you regaled with a richly flavoured cuisine that impresses with its originality and is inspired by the recipes of the rural wine-growing districts. But the Landgrafenstube not only offers exquisite cooking, but also a competent and unobtrusive service. The comfortable ambiance is rounded off by a well sorted wine-cellar that apart from the classics also offers many rarities. Last but not least: the view of the Thuringian forest as far as the Rhön and far into the province of Hesse is simply breathtaking. Opening hours: April to October daily from 12 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.November to March from 6 p.m.
Just underneath the Wartburg castle, the restaurant offers a rather limited selection of dishes, but both the Sauerbraten ("sour roast beef", a German beef specialty) and the catfish (Wels in German) were excellent. They also have a range of wines, including wines from the East German Saale-Unstrut region.

A restaurant with amazing decor and decorative pieces.
I am a South African on business in Germany and my visit to Kartoffelhaus was greeted with kindness and patience.
My meal was the famous German Bratwurst. As they say when in Germany...
It was absolutely delicious and I chose to have it served with a Beer and mashed potato with English mustard as a side.
I thoroughly enjoyed my Meal and moved on to another Beer when it was suggest by my waiter.
A great night out, beautiful country and warm welcoming restaurant.
I will definitely return for another meal.

schönes Aussichtsrestaurant oberhalb der Stadt im Berghotel am Burschenschaftsdenkmal
We had lunch here. After walking through an outdated entrance area and bar you arrive at a very nicely decorated restaurant with a wonderful view on the Warburg.
Service was nice but very slow.
Food was okay. Good soups but not even lukewarm when they arrived at the table.
Decent kids food. My beef roulade was okay, I have had better ones.
The fish was very well done but the risotto was very dry. It should be creamy and delicious.
Decent pricing.

If you in the center of Einsenach, and you need to drink a coffee or have lunch, this might be a solution. The food is good and fresh, and they say organic, but the prices are little bit up.

The food here is very good, the historic surroundings are very impressive and the staff are very pleasant.
Given this quality it is hard (and probably unfair) to be critical. The restaurant is quite expensive by local standards and service, although friendly, is a bit slow.
On the other hand, there is a good choice and the care that goes into the preparation is obvious.
This is a good place for fine dining but perhaps it is not ideal for a relaxing evening out with friends.
