Cumbernauld (/ˌkʌmbərˈnɔːld/; Scots: Cummernaud /ˌkʌmərˈnɔːd/; Scottish Gaelic: Comar nan Allt) is a town in North Lanarkshire, Scotland. It is the ninth most-populous locality in Scotland, despite only being designated as the site for a New Town on 9 December 1955. Exceptional staff, service and delicious food. Special family dinner celebrating an 80th and 50th was made all the more special by the little touches like a personalised headed menu to the birthday ladies and the plates for their Deserts with happy 80/50th written in chocolate sauce. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly and the main waiter serving us (wish I had taken his name ....he wore black glasses) was a credit to the hotel, very patient, professional and nothing was too much trouble for any of the team. I would highly recommend the Glenskirlie to anyone. Well done your team are a credit to you. We will be back!!

An absolute joke from the food to the service! Friday night, 7.30pm, table of 8 women, 2 other couples, so pretty empty, waited ages to get a drink which was wrong! Starter, was garlic bread and bruschetta...sent the garlic bread back as it had no taste whatsoever and got told the biggest load of BS from the young manager about how the "new mozzarella" they were using had absorbed all the garlic flavour????? WHAT?? To actually get my intelligence insulted on that level??Then a long time later the mains came, 2 fillet steaks with "handcut chips". The chips were frozen ones from the local cash and carry. I asked why were they frozen ones? She said "were they cold for you?". I replied no, they were frozen from origin! She replied "that's our handcut chips" Another blatant lie. And the pepper sauce was tasteless. To crown it all when the bill came they had charged us for a round of drinks we didn't have, and got another load of BS about how another table had been opened up for us as well???? The waitress laughed on our way out and said "I take it you wont be back?" The owner wants a word with themselves about the running of that place. Absolute joke for a restaurant and a disgrace of staff training. Sorry but this place needs a major shake up and revamp! No wonder it's empty on a busy night! ABSOLUTE Shambles!

Well worth going out of your way to find (easily) in the village of Longcroft or breaking your journey leaving the M80 at Junction 7.
Always very busy but usually plenty of staff available and good, prompt service. Definitely worth booking or telephoning in advance as we were unable to book mid-January even with 48 hours in advance.
Very good choice and great value set meals for lunch and pre-theatre. Last visit we had the Christmas menu which was just a touch different from the usual set meals but with enough festive touches. Booked yet again for late February family celebration.

The Red Deer in Cumbernauld is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.
We visited Saturday for an early dinner. Kept it simple and ordered the home made steak burger with cheese. One standard one gluten free. 1 Skinny chips and one chunky fries. It was OK. The But is whole meal was too dry Gluten free roll was dryer than usual and meat no flavour as no meat juice. Even with the addition of more and more mayo it really didn't help.Staff were excellent friendly and helpful but the Chef really needs to up his game.Suggestion ask the customer is verything OK and mean it don' ask as you walk away. :-)

Went to the Ashoka Brasserie for Christmas Dinner with my mum, husband and our two children aged 20 and 19 years old. Can’t fault anything, from the moment we arrived Meekie and staff greeted us and made us all welcome. Service was fantastic considering they were extremely busy and food was delicious. A traditional Turkey meal was on the menu but my family and I opted for curries all round, as we love the Ashoka. Well done Meekie and staff, we hope to book again for next Christmas, however, we will visit again well before that! See you soon, Alison

Tremendous Indian Restaurant. Great menu and even better value buffet during week. Expected it to be good, but it was magic. Quality was excellent. Sould your favourite dish not be on the menu, don't hesitate to ask our chef - who is renowned for making dishes with emphasis on freshness and distinct spicing - and whenever possible we will do our utmost to accommodate.
This is a fabulous restaurant. The staff are pleasant, welcoming and attentive. The food is just delicious and great value. I would recommend this to anyone. From couples to parties, it suits all. Depending on what time of day you arrive and what you order this can be pleasantly inexpensive or a bit dearer, but never disappointing.
