Tumbled here late at night even though trip advisor rated this low. Very friendly place. Opens late for a sleepy town/village. The steak with mushroom dish and house salad dressing were good (not the balsamic). Had the lasagna n spaghetti as well. Pretty Italian to me. Only neg thing was that service was a bit slow.

The restaurant surroundings are fairly simple and so is the food but the owners were welcoming and helpful and the food was well cooked. We ate here twice recently as we had been recommended. This place is popular with locals. There is an upstairs Terrace used by smokers. Good value.

We stopped here for lunch while recently visiting Cochem. My husband got the four cheese pizza and I got the spaghetti carbonara. Both were good. The service was almost good. Our waitress was timely while she was there but then she disappeared and we had to find someone to pay our check as we had a tasting to get to quickly.

Best place to try award winning wines in 2 ounce portions. The staff, including the well trained school girls all speak excellent English. The food is very light and designed to complement the wines.

Make sure you are hungry as the servings of Mexican dishes are huge, very tasty and extremely filling. As previously mentioned we wouldn't call it authentic Mexican however it was enjoyable and of course very fine local wines to choose from along with German beers added to the enjoyment of our meal. Wait staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome even though we could not speak German.

Decided upon Dazert after Reading several reviews. Considering Cochem would be described as a tourist destination - particularly for nationals it seems - we were surprised at the overall low scores many restaurants were getting
Although we did have a positive experience at Zum Oncle Willi's we wanted to try somewhere different for our last evening in Cochem. Dazert was reasonably close and some good reviews
We weren't disappointed
It appears the older couple to own/operate the restaurant are still very much hands-on when it comes to the daily operation: however they do have the assistance of a younger staff member who is quite friendly and accommodating
The food was fresh, tasty and ample - and reasonably priced.
While the decor may not be to everyone's taste - as it is quite retro - we found it endearing
We would definitely recommend Dazert

We stopped in recently for lunch as the dessert presentation was impressive. We were given an english menu which was a good start. The server while not being the friendliest person around was prompt and took our orders within a reasonable period. The food came at an OK time and was decent for a tourist place. Prices were OK. Very busy restaurant with many people coming and going especially to get a beautiful dessert. I think if you are hungry and wandering around Cochem this place is OK.

It has an old decor but really cosy, the staff was very friendly and helpfull, (we where travelling with a baby).
The prices are what you can expect from a cafe in a touristic place.
But the quality was very good and the portions where more than enough. We had the wafels and the apfel-strudel with eis und sahne.
For a great view, you can sit on the first floor by the window.

We were lucky enough to be staying at the hotel and there for a special night in the restaurant (usually only open twice a week) as well as one of their regular openings. The food was nothing short of exceptional, Anna served everything beautifully and matched wines based on our taste and the set menu from the kitchen. The chef (owner) visited all of the tables during the evening to make sure everything was perfect. You can opt for either a three or four course meal which includes a complimentary starter dish from the kitchen as well as a gorgeous sorbet before the main was served. Let Anna take control and bring you the suggested wines and sit back and enjoy. Make sure you don't have a large lunch though!!!
All dishes were delicate but full if flavor and the presentation was incredible.
Staff were professional and unobtrusive while being friendly and helpful.
Totally recommended, book a table now to avoid disappointment if you are visiting in high season.
