Lions Lookout

Reviewed By e2Matt

I used to live in Huntsville. While back visiting summer 2017 I visited Lions Lookout. Its a pretty impressive view, especially if you have never seen it however... Town of Huntsville... can of paint and some paint brushes... hear of em. Being only a short walk from Huntsville High and being pretty secluded, Lions Lookout gets its fair share of abuse from vandals. I think the town could really do more with the area, there is lots of room for walking trails and benches.
If you have not seen it, check it out. Leaves in the fall are great.

Group of Seven Outdoor Gallery

Reviewed By jmac5959 - Qualicum Beach, Canada

I love the Group of Seven and have a couple of reproductions hanging in my home. I expected the murals in Huntsville to be rather worn and faded reproductions. But they aren't!! They are actual paintings, originally done by Group of Seven members, that have been lovingly reproduced by other talented artists. The colours are vibrant and very close to the originals. We had so much fun walking all over town and suddenly a mural would pop up on the front, side or back of a building. We were in Ottawa the previous weekend and were disappointed to discover that the National Gallery had closed the Canadian Collection galleries in order to renovate/prepare for our 150th birthday next year in 2017. So coming to Huntsville and discovering all these beautiful murals was a wonderful consolation!

This is an excellent place for hiking. It is not well known and never busy. It is free. The only down side, is the trails are not marked well for distance. Take your own water, and food for a picnic, there is no place close to buy anything

My husband and I booked a 4 day excursion to Muskoka Hidden Valley resort expecting to use their boats, beach, games room, hiking trails, dining room, and pool and to have a comfortable room as offered on their website. We found the beach and boats were closed, the games room was not free with the room, the restaurant offerings held little appeal for dinner, no information was available about hiking, the room had a heating unit which rattled and kept us awake all night, and the bathroom door would not open completely and scaped the floor noisily when used. At this resort, you must book a superior room to get basic comfort. To the hotel's credit, they did work with us when we voiced our discontent; the salt water pool was lovely and the breakfast buffet was good when the resort was fully booked. Why doesn't their website accurately reflect what if offers and doesn't offer as the seasons change?
