Beverwijk (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌbeːvərˈʋɛi̯k] ( listen)) is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The town is located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) northwest of Amsterdam in the Randstad metropolitan area, north of the North Sea Canal very close to the North Sea coast. A railway tunnel and two motorway tunnels cross the canal between Beverwijk and the nearby city of Haarlem on the south bank.

This restaurant is an absolute must in Beverwijk. Friendly ambience and staff.
The menu is regularly changing and the pricing is always very moderate, nice wines and good draft beers.
We go there with the whole family and always enjoy it.
During the weeknd hoewever reserving a table is an absolute must as it is always packed.

I am visiting almost 40 years the "Rode Haan" and it is still the nicest bar in Beverwijk. Since 10 years is Hendrik Jan the new owner of this bar. There is also a possibility to eat some small dishes. When you are in Beverwijk you must visit "De Rode Haan".

Very nice place located in the center of Beverwijk, the service and attention of the staff is good even when it's completely crowded and that's always a good signal. The interior is nicely decorated and has a cozy feeling (however a bit outdated in some details).
The food is reasonable when you think about the price and quality of what you get, my kids liked the pizza a lot and my risotto was perfect. However my wife's pasta didn't have much taste unfortunately. It is the same with the wine we ordered, we're wine lovers and what they offer us was also not very special.
In the end it's a good choice and we'll be probably back soon.

My wife and I really enjoyed our visit to this restaurant, the ambience is very nice and the service is excellent. We were also very pleased with the quality of the plates we ordered, all dishes were very well prepared and the food had great taste. Definitively a place to go back or recommend to anyone.

The restaurant is serving well prepared dishes, in a number of courses. All dishes are generally prepared very well. Staff is able to present some nice matching wines with the menu, which makes it even more interesting. Food is right quality/quantity/price level. As restaurants go in the Ijmuiden area, this is definitely one of the best.

This restaurant has a nicely laid out interior, well decorated and has a very large Terrace area outside on the footpath. Although the view from the Terrace may not be very special, the layout and Seating is comfortable and creates a good atmosphere (especially when the weather is good).
The concept of the menu here is similar to eating tapas. The menu has a good choice of hot and cold dishes on it, which includes some unusual but very tasty specials as well. The ‘shared dining’ idea is that you choose 2 or 3 dishes per person and share them, however you can also eat them yourself in the traditional manner of a ‘starter’ and a ‘main course’ (as we did). We personally found that 2 dishes per person plus a dessert were sufficient.
The waitresses were all very friendly and the food was well presented. Although the dishes are not particularly cheap, the quality and taste was very good.
I would certainly recommend this restaurant, especially as it’s (tapas) concept makes it a little different from the rest. We will no doubt return again.

Although we were about 20 minutes late for our reservation, we were greeted with a gracious smile and escorted to a table with a gorgeous view of the lake in front of the hotel. The restaurant is charming and the service was very personal. We started with a couple of cocktails and Milton, the sommelier choose a bottle for us based on some of the wines/producers I love (White Burgundy). He also made excellent suggestions (a Priorat) for later in the meal to pair with meat courses. And introduced me to a great German winemaker Oliver Zeter.
As for the food, the progression and artistry of the meal was delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed every course. I know I can't eat like that everyday, but I will definitely be back to see what Chef Alain Alders and Sommelier Milton Verseput has in store next!
Thank you to the staff for the excellent service! Especially Elmar!

A friend took me here a couple of days ago and I was pleasantly surprised. After all, it is in...Heemskerk. :)
I had the tournedos (excellent) and the soup to start (also excellent). The service is very attentive, and the round room exudes warmth and comfort.
It wasn't a life-changing meal. But I was tired after an overnight flight, and half-way through the meal I started to feel human again. I'd definitely return, and I recommend this place if you're in the area.
It's not cheap but the mains come with tons of sides, and it's worth every penny.
