If you are near Amsterdam, Haarlem or Zandvoort, and want to hike, bike or horseback ride in a beautiful setting of woods, high grassy dunes, lakes, and amidst waterfowl, wild Highland cattle, ponies and other wildlife, then this is the National park for you. Easy access by car, bus or train, this can easily give you a challenging day of activities. The entrance has an education area, gift shop and cafe, with helpful friendly staff. Do as little or as much as you please. Its so close to the hectic Rundstad yet world's away.

This place really is a gem, situated next to child's play park and paddling pool, aviary and deer park round the corner. A very small scale so perfect for toddlers with a good selection of small animals.

Nice beach, only reachable by bike or by foot. It is a 4 km walk through beautiful terrain, (dunes, woodlands, etc) to reach the beach from the nearest road.
Free parking, and after the walk you will find one of the best Beaches of North Holland, also nice "beach restaurant" open in season only, from 1 April till end of Sept.

Lots of space. Possibility to order online and just print the ticket there. Many places to buy some food, although hardly anything is healthy.. Seats for children to sit a bit higher. Always look forward going here with my daughter during school holidays.

Castle exists since middle centuries and at very moment in use as okay hotel.
The most interesting matter is the beautiful garden in the style of the 18th/17th century. This garden is worth to pay a visit. The garden is regularly maintained by a club of volonteers. You feel you are in the previous time of life.

We have the best routes for you and thanks to the comfort of our e-bikes can be a relaxing way to enjoy the surroundings. You can use a (small group) to use the services of a professional guide or an e-bike for a few hours and hire themselves on the road. Outside our pickup points you can e-bikes delivered to your hotel or campsite.
These bikes are brilliant. Simply brilliant. And so is the service and help in finding routes to take. On top of that you get all the accoutrements - very good saddle bags, high viz, poncho and a helmet too (we didn't take the helmet!)
Whether you like to go really fast, or just like to enjoy the countryside, you'll like these! They work beautifully. The electric packs are like little magical boosts of power when you are tired, or you are wanting to overtake someone on a hill, or there is a headwind, or you just want to go really really fast!! The rest of the bikes is pretty good too. There are more than 3 gears (3 is the norm for dutch bikes - their riders all have massive thighs!), which all changed smoothly and when you want them too. They have handlebar brakes instead of pedal brakes, another plus if you are not used to the backpedal stop that a lot of Dutch bikes have.
I was hesitant at first, the price being double what it is for hiring a regular bike. My boyfriend and I are both fairly fit and gluttons for the physical punishment of long distance cycling/ runnning. Did we really need that electric pack? YES! Those bikes were the best part of our little Dutch adventure!
Get your own map though. The ones provided are limited to the Ijmuiden area.

My suns went for ski training in preparation for Ski holidays. The trainers are very professional and kind to the kids. Small classes so they got extra attention. That alone is very super. The restaurant / bar is cozy and the staff is ver friendly. The soup I had was organic for a normal price.
