We were suggested to travel with Jally after friend and their parents as well had a really positive experience while traveling with Jally tours. The same can be said for us. He travelled with us throughout Sri Lanka for 20 days. Most of the trip was planned at home and Yally took care of some of the guesthouses, which were excellent. Some of them took us to the prettiest vistas in Sri Lanka. About half of them were booked by ourself online, which was no problem at all.
Jally proved to be an excellent tour guide with a wealth of knowledge about the country, but also about its traditions and its wildlife. He actually was a valuable addition to the two Safaris we made. He had a great eye for spotting wildlife and was able to explain about the animals as well.
Also the restaurant suggestions along the trip were always spot on, with good quality food for a fair prices. During the trip Yally always tried to arrange the best experience for us. That could be suggestions for a rafting trip, or a out of this world Ayurvedic spa treatment.
Very important also, Yally is an excellent driver in the chaotic Sri Lankan traffic, we never felt unsafe in the car.
We can only highly recommend planning a Sri Lankan tour with Yally. 100% trustworthy and a safe tour operator which really tries to offer you the best holiday possible.

The Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara is one of many 'must see' places for anyone interested in the Buddhist Temples of the island. Its history goes back to before 500 BCE and the third visit of Lord Buddha to Sri lanka. It has important paintings relating to the life of The Buddha, It is also famous for its wonderful image of the reclining Buddha. It is believed that the original Stupa enshrined a throne of gems upon which Lord Buddha sat. The place is tranquil and a huge privilege and pleasure to see.

St. Anthony's Church Kochikade Colombo

All of the christian churches in Colombo seem to be plain affairs with little interest to tourists. St Anthony’s actually had a lot of people in it singing, which was nice until an old woman started literally chasing me to try to get me to buy prayer offerings. I guess the Buddhism has rubbed off on them.

Gangaramaya (Vihara) Buddhist Temple

Reviewed By Margo P - Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

Walked to this temple from our hotel via Seema Malaka Temple which is just across the road from this one. We paid at the first temple (150 each) and it included visiting this one as well.
On arriving you have to walk around without your shoes so would advice to carry some socks with you as some of the floors can get quite hot! If you are not dressed correctly then they will give some cloths to cover yourself up with.
The route is numbered so can't get lost and we found it was a mixture of temple and museum artefacts! We did ask someone what all the museum bits were about and was told they were ancient relics!! Don't think so when we saw a boom box and also two toy tornado airplanes on display! At the end of the tour there is a car museum which consists of about 8 cars which are from the British era .
There are a few temple bits to see and The Praying Tree is worth seeing. Enjoyed what I saw and past a couple of hours or so!

Viharamahadevi Park

Reviewed By Tash C - Oxford, United Kingdom

In the hustle and bustle of a very busy city this park offers a welcome break, bursting with gorgeous foliage, pelicans, stalks and flying foxes I really enjoyed just sitting around here for a few hours and watching the locals enjoying their day. Would 100% recommend spending a bit of time here whilst in the city. It will remain my favourite part!
