14th century, mote created and then the house developed through history.
An amazing place to visit, in the middle of the Kent countryside where the usual excellent NT facilities.
We had the very informative taster tour and then explored the house/mote and gardens- fine photographic opportunity.
What a privilege to visit on a grey mid-March day.
Wonderful volunteers providing that extra mile of information.

Perfect for a sunday walk. We love it here and have been back time and time again to visit our beautiful deer friends. They are so gentle and come up to us for head scratches.
You can park up on the side of the surrounding lanes and just go in, so it's a free attraction, I can't recommend it enough.

Fabulous plant collections, a great place to explore and play, somewhere to kick back, relax and unwind, Emmetts Garden has so much to offer. What will you do to make it yours? Make our garden your garden.

We were expecting quite a lot of structure in the garden and lots to see. Were a bit disappointed. Lovely views and walks and a good cafe but for keen gardeners it is very limited.

Have attended outdoor plays here a few times. The plays are staged in the walled garden which is a natural Amphitheatre. Everyone takes picnics and Seating and you have about an hour to eat before the performance starts.
Very pleasant, typically British affair. Take blankets or fleeces for later as you WILL get cold.

Great spot for wildfowl with two large lakes and well positioned bird hides. While writing this, an Osprey is present and has been on site for a couple of weeks.
Great for an afternoon stroll if you just want a quiet walk. Refreshments available near car park and wildlife trust shop. Site managed by wildlife trust with free entry. Make a donation to help them out, or become a member.

Stag Community Arts Centre

Reviewed By Clive B - Dartford, United Kingdom

As a volunteer-run community venue, this is an excellent site, with both regular stage Performances and cinema screenings both being put on here. The stage is a decent size, with a front projection system providing the backdrop changes, there is, however, a good lighting system, and an orchestra pit with keyboards, drums, and brass. For guests, the audience Seating and carpet are all in excellent condition. However this location it is not without minor flaws or irritations. This centre is not very disabled friendly and the toilets are very small (the metal trough urinal for men is only large enough for two men bumping elbows).
I suspect the venues ratings will vary greatly depending on whether someone has seen a show or film. My family attended to see Snow White and the seven dwarfs pantomime, and we had a fantastic time, which I'd rate five stars, but as just a venue, it doesn't outshine its Performances.

Bradbourne Lake Park

Reviewed By Susanne B - Sevenoaks, United Kingdom

A popular place with local families, this park contains a series of small lakes and plenty of ducks. Feeding them is an obvious and popular attraction, but please do remember that bread, cakes etc. are very bad for ducks ( however much the ducks may tell you otherwise) and for the lakes, and chopped up green stuff is so much better. On street parking but sadly no toilets.

If you're near, it's worth popping in but I wouldn't bother travelling too far to see it, there are only a couple of rooms and whilst it is interesting, it doesn't take long to look around. It's quite easy to miss as the sign is almost hidden, I drove past it twice!

Sevenoaks Kaleidoscope Gallery

Reviewed By landp1960 - England, United Kingdom

WE had heard about the new exhibit about local 'colorful' characters in Sevenoaks and being very familiar with several having lived here for 17 years we were keen to go. I phoned ahead to see if had opened. The curator was dealing with the finishing touches and though not officially open said we could drop in. It was his easy going agreeableness that struck me.
The exhibit itself was fine. THough the text more interesting than the actual pictures. (text was a bit small) I also would have liked to have seen some different sizes of photos. But Well done to the phtographer for a thought-provoking exhibit.
