Outdoor Africa is a professional safari company offering custom designed photographic tours to some of the very best safari destinations in Southern Africa. Our Safaris are run according to a strict "safety first policy", ensuring that you, your family and friends enjoy a trip of a lifetime.
Just a simple THANK YOU to Hayden of Outdoor Africa. I have recently returned to NZ having thoroughly enjoyed an exciting 8-day safari in Zululand with him as my guide, visiting iSimangaliso Wetland Park, Hluhluwe/Imfolozi Game Reserves and Tembe Elephant Park. His knowledge of wildlife, animal behaviour and plants is exceptional and informative, and so are his tracking skills especially when it comes to finding lions at Tembe Elephant Park. Game viewing went very well except 8 days was too short!
Food was delicious including the scrambled eggs Hayden cooked for breakfast at the tented camp in Imfolozi, as well as the BBQ we had when the hyena paid us a visit! What a laugh when that monkey appeared from nowhere and stole our rolls that we were about to have for lunch!
Special mention must be made of the professional treatment given to me and of his friendly respectful manner he has with everyone including the locals. Also for his driving skills when surrounded by elephant!
THANK YOU again for the fun we had.

Malls are big in South Africa. This one offers many shops, movies, a couple of restaurants and some banks. The mall and restrooms are clean and modern with some renovations going on. On par with other malls in big towns/cities, but nothing special.

One of my favorite places and a lovely "island" to take your dog for a walk. It only takes about 40min at a leisure pace to walk around the island. It also gives your dog the opportunity to have a safe swim in the warm water if the Indian Ocean.
The island is not very busy on week days, and you can safely pack a picnic basket and enjoy the Zululand sunset in the late afternoon.
Please remember to always clean up behind yourself and your dog when you leave.

Richards Bay is a way point for visitors to the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve, the St. Lucia Estuary or Swaziland to the north. But it is a nice retirement town with good weather and a good infrastructure. There is little to see except the harbor and the Alkantstrand Beach. The beach is one of the few good for swimming in many miles and is average by most standards. But it is large, relatively clean and a great place to 'chill' for the afternoon. Remember there are Great White Sharks in the ocean and undersea channels nearby, so always exercise caution before going in the water. Talk to the residents and follow their advice.

This is a good place for tourist but it need more touch up so that it can be at the standard and you need a 4x4 car as the road is sandy and there was a place were you drove near the big lack and if you came late the water usually fill up and you need to drive careful. There is utshwayelo( kraals used to catch fishes) as people along there most are in employed and they sell those fishes.

We used this company for a private tour sharing a minibus with six others. The pick up from the cruise terminal was smooth and the driver very accommodating. My only niggle was the exchange rate used when I paid. I recommend that you pay only in Rands in order to avoid a sour taste in the mouth at the end of the tour.
