I was quite surprised with how much my family and I enjoyed the Port Stanley Beach. Lots of great stones for skipping, nice sand and lots of space! Mind you, we went during the week twice, so I don't know the weekend experience. If you can walk less than 10 minutes, probably closer to five minutes, you can park for free which is nice. There are great food choices nearby in case you do not want to pack a picnic. There are a lot of birds, including Hawks, which will interest some. There are bathroom facilities and a playground for the kids. I really enjoyed the beach in Port Stanley and I'm sure you will too!

No bad seats, central location, close to bars and the Ice cream shop! Can't review the pay as it won't be the same one!

Nice train ride though some beautiful areas of Port Stanley.
The conductors were all friendly and you could tell they were actually enjoying their job. They were very willing to share information and answer any questions.
Train ride is one hour and will suit any age

I have come to Hawk Cliff every year for over 10 years and it never gets old. The 2nd & 3rd weekends in September brings out all the birders! With their binoculars volunteers count the number of raptors that fly by....because all migrating birds must come through the cliff as they head south. Experts attend and band some of the raptors. You can also watch tiny bands being attached to the monarchs' butterfly's wing. Books are available to purchase and this year different stages of live monarchs were displayed. Great for the whole family. A little kept secret.

Stopped here while on a day trip to Port Stanley with family. The store is full of local crafts, paintings, photography, sculptures and other arts from local artisans. The store was much larger than it looked from the outside. The main front area is small but when I poked my head through the door near the back I was surprised at the large gallery in the back. Most of the items that we checked out the prices for were all reasonably priced and would have thought they would have been more expensive. I ended up making an impulse buy of a clay moose caricature sculpture because of the very cheap price of $20. Turns out the artist was in the gallery that day and thanked me for purchasing her work. She was from the nearby town of St. Thomas. Very cool shop and worth a look.

From an airplane above this wonderful woodland you can still see the original runway layout from the days when this was a World War II air training base. Now a great spot for birding in Spring and Fall, well marked trails and plaques acknowledging its origins. Note: keep your eyes open for ticks in August.

It's called the Port Stanley lighthouse, but in fact its really nothing more than a beacon, lighting the way to the entrance to the harbour, a place still busy with fishing boats. It does make for a picturesque picture, situated as it is at the end of a long pier, with extensive work now under way to create what looks like a fascinating park leading out to the pier.

My wife and I visited on a cold weekend day so we were unable to spend any time outdoors. There is a small retail store selling apples and pies and apple crisp. The pies are delicious but a little on the pricey side at $15. There is a play area outside for children and a corn maze. Looks like fun.

This small little gallery showcases the work of local artists who depict everyday rural and lakeside scenes. There are a variety of artists' works on display and the artists represented change frequently. A very worthwhile stop on any visit to the port.
