This is a wonderful walking/cycling trail, connects to many other trails, so the trip can be as long as you like it, with many convenient places to park. Good surface even when it rains - and being in BC's Lower Mainland, in "normal" winter, biking is fine 12 months of the year!

I had visited Vancouver almost 20 times but eastward I had never ventured beyond Burnaby. This time I visited a friend living in Coquitlam, not by taking the Transcanada freeway but by the Barnet Highway (7A) along the shoreline, and hitting Port Moody's Rocky Point Park before Coquitlam. This is still a saltwater shoreline park where we had fish n chips and relaxed with overlooking the inlet's quaint houses on the opposite side.

I love walking around the lake, it's beautiful, peaceful, love the Fountain in the center. The Christmas lighting display is fabulous, I have enjoyed wonderful afternoons there with entertainment. This used to be a fully operational farm that operated by the Forensic Facility on site. There are many areas to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are lots of opportunities to see local wildlife including deer, bear, coyotes and lots of waterfowl.

Good for a dog on leash walk of about 1.2 km on a bark mulch path around the lake. Many spots to rest in shade and/or on many memorial benches and picnic tables. Never crowded. Watch but please DO NOT FEED the geese and ducks. Small kids enjoy the neat playground there while old codgers like me enjoy seeing the young families.

As with the other microbreweries in Port Moody, they only tend to cater to those who like bitter, sour or very hoppy tasting beer...It is a shame, as it alienates the rest of us, who don't like those tastes at all...They used to have really good beer when they opened up, but the quality is going down the hoppy and bitter slope I am afraid...

The Giggle Dam Dinner Theatre

Since 2001 ‘The DAM’ has been the best kept entertainment secret in the Lower Mainland. Think of Saturday Night Live ... with DINNER. Think of a rock concert ... with DINNER. Think of a mind-blowing, 4-hour blend of politically incorrect, interactive LIVE musical comedy, an eight-piece LIVE show band and LIVE Vegas-worthy celebrity impersonations...with DINNER. We’re different. We’re the only one. We have way too much fun. We are the best entertainment value in town. You should join us!

This experience is always a treat. The staff are entertaining and create a great atmosphere with lots of laughs. The meals have improved dramatically from my previous visits. They aren’t high class dining experiences but good portions and very tasty. The first half of the show is the comedy. Lots of laughs. Second half becomes a musical entertainment with some outstanding talent. Great evening with friends.
