The children went on the banana and we were offered to watch from the boat which was nice. It was quite windy so limited in what they could do the day we visited. Staff were very friendly but not sure why I ended up paying 5 euros more than advertised? Also was slightly surprised when they said they were not allowed to make the children fall off the banana.

The fortified city of Aigues-Mortes was built in the 13th century on the order of Saint Louis to provide the kingdom of France with a port on the Mediterranean. The complex consists of 1,634 metres of ramparts flanked by twenty towers and one of the most splendid keeps in the architectural style of the Middle Ages, the tower of Constance, which was used as a prison for Protestants from the Cévennes region from 1685. This was a highlight of our visit to the Camargue, or more correctly, the Little (Petite) Camargue country. Ancient Aigues-Mortes has walls enclosing the town, complete with ramparts and towers in very good condition, considering their age. We climbed the walls and the tower for excellent views of the town below us and the countryside beyond the town. Great photo opportunities.

A great beach for me is the kind offered in South East Asia, so thats what I rate against (I'm thinking white sand, crystal clear Emerald waters, mountainous backdrop). So what we have here is a long Beach, not too busy, with grayish sand and murky (but warm) waters. A number of beach restaurants and hawkers selling drinks and foods patrolling the Sands. Very hard to find parking.

When you first arrive there are large wooden carvings outside of seals, sharks, sea horses etc the kids can climb all over them (and you if you're game!) it's pretty good!
Once you've bought your tickets you are straight in to the large floor to ceiling tanks in the middle and large window tanks round the outside. There is a great variety of fish including conger and moray eels.
As you walk along there are lots of windows with marine life, brightly coloured fish etc. At the end there is a cinema which I think is air conditioned and shows various educational films.
You then walk through the tunnel seeing the Sharks and sea turtles. Then you get to go across a walk way above the tunnel looking at the Sharks etc from above.
Then on to the seals and sea lions, you see them on the surface and then go down the stairs and watch them swim below the surface, it's quite beautiful.
In this area there is another air conditioned cinema and lots of interactive displays for the kids. The toilets are here too.
Then you walk through a corridor to a giant tank with loads of different sharks and huge fish. There are benches here and you could sit and watch them for ages, it's very therapeutic! You can walk round to the other side of the tank and there are other window tanks along the opposite wall. There is also stairs up to the top of the tank where you can see all the Sharks from above. There is also a petting tank up here, would be great if they could put a bit more in it.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here, the prices are pretty reasonable and they offer various family tickets and annual passes.
I would definitely recommend a visit here, if you are there in peak season the parking can be a bit difficult.

Church in the middle of the Camargue. What makes it unique is the statue of St. Sara and all the candles in the underground chamber. This is a visit that only takes maybe 10 minutes and is located conveniently a stones throw from the main drag (where all the shopping is) and about five minutes from the popular beach area.

Having not read any reviews about this church I was completely taken by surprise to see the ultra-modern stained glass windows set in such ancient walls. I'm sure they are a matter of considerable debate amongst churchgoers and connoisseurs of church architecture; and at first thought it shouldn't really work.
But it is different; and the windows are very attractive; so perhaps it works pretty well after all!
