Brewery on the banks of the River Lézarde, Vernou, Petit-Bourg, Guadeloupe. You will discover the artisanal manufacturing site of the famous beer Lézarde, only craft beer of the island. Here you will find beers, ofcourse, but also snacks, soft drinks ... to enjoy on the Terrace in the heart of the rainforest. Free WIFI.
Went to Guadeloupe for the first time in March 2017. I was looking for a location with a waterfall where there was no group excursion and tourist did know about. After making a search on google I found this place "saut de le lezarde" that looked pretty interesting. Drove to the location but got lost on the way but ended up at a brewery "bière de la lézarde". Decided to go in for a beer and ask for some directions. Got in the backyard and wow the scenery was amazing. Patio like, two or three levels going down a hill in the forest and the view was just unreal. Lots of deferent beers to choose from and the staff are really friendly. I had a beer and some directions to the falls and had a day to remember. The place might be a bit hard to find but a most see!!!
P.s. Check out my video of the falls on YouTube
Or type in "just another day Guadeloupe saut de la lézarde"
Enjoy

The waterfall is beautiful and you can swim in the pool beneath the falls - all in all, well worth the trip! The trail can be very muddy and slippery, so it's worth considering what the recent weather is like and how happy you are in muddy conditions before setting out.
The walk to the falls is about a 30 minute steady descent from the side of a valley, to the floor: parking is on street - you will see a small sign at the side of the road to the 'saut de lezard', that shows where the trail starts. When we visited, there were plenty of other cars from other visitors, so it was quite easy to spot.
We visited the day after a day with quite a lot of rainfall and the entire trail from start to finish was slippery and very muddy. In one place, there were a couple of fallen trees engulfed in what could be best described as a muddy quagmire. I suspect the conditions on the trail vary greatly dependent on the recent rainfall levels.
When we reached the falls, we had a lovely time: swimming under the falls, paddling in the stream and a picnic lunch on the nearby rocks. There were probably 10-15 other people there at the same time as us, so it's certainly fairly popular without being spoilt.
We were a family of 4, including a fairly hardy 3 year old, who I had to carry most of the way due to the mud.

Mon conseil ? ALLEZ-Y

As something of a rum enthusiast (I wouldn't quite call myself a connoisseur... yet), I've visited a few rum Distilleries throughout the Caribbean and must say that I was thoroughly disappointed by this derelict distillery and its sorry excuse for a tour.
During our visit, the distillery itself was inoperable (apparently it had been "a month or two" since equipment failure had brought operations to a halt - it was expected to be back up and running "after mid-January 2013") and deserted, other than our guide. The guide did a very quick and very poor job of describing the distillation process, and there was really no tour of the grounds/facility, other than a short walk past the gift shop.
The guide then quickly rushed us off to said gift shop, where a company employee was pouring taster shots as quickly as he could. There was no description of the different types of rum being offered and the employee didn't seem to know much about rum. When I asked him to recommend a nice sipping rum to taste he responded by saying that all the different rums were "nice with coke"... ?!?!? What? A quality rum should not be consumed with coke! But I digress.
Sadly, the taster that was suggested had less flavor than boat gas, and after quickly looking around at the overpriced items for sale, decided it was time to leave.
I would not recommend taking the time to visit.

What a beautiful spot on Planet Earth! We drove for miles just looking up at the Mountains that are s colorful and majestic. We enjoyed driving around the 10+ mile dirt road and stopped at Rattlesnake Canyon-what a view! Words just cannot describe the surrounding beauty. Cactus varieties were so unique. Saw a lot of animals life, including a roadrunner and deer. Rock formations are just so unique. Be sure and take plenty of water on your travels through this awesome National Park.

The location is lovely. The whole garden is sheltered by a valley. The lush vegetation creates a cool and fresh atmosphere/air which makes a great change to the humidity along the Beaches and in the lowland.
The restaurant area is well-kept and clean. Our sandwiches were freshly made under our eyes.
However, the place could do with a bit more attention. Some of the plants need pruning in order to re-grow to their full glorie.

A place for quiet contemplation, with a stream and several ponds, one of which gives you the opportunity of using pedalos, but generally lacking in interest. No effort is made to identify plants and trees – a bit of an issue with self-guided tours. There is plenty of space and at the time we visited, few people around. It would be an ideal venue for educational or self-development courses, but it needs a lot of work on it. It pales in comparison with nearby Jardins de Valombreuse. Entrance fee is a modest €7 per adult.

Scenic waterfall in the middle of a tropical rainforest.
Stopped here as part of our cruise ship tour. We were the first coach to arrive, so it wasnt too crowded on the viewing platform to see the cascade, that falls into the tropical pool below. A short walk from parking area, which has a shop, kiosk and a toilet that you have to ask for the key to. Worth the stop.

Contacted this company based on the Trip Advisor rating and after several emails between us agreed a private tour on 5th Feb to meet 4 of us from our cruise ship at the cruise terminal at 9.15AM - having waited for about 20 mins I phoned the mobile number I had for Christian Griere to find out where the driver was - only to be told "I Cant Help You" - who ever answered the phone seemed fluent in English but either didn't know or didn't want to know about our booking....all I kept getting was I can't help.
Suggest you don't bother with these people and make your own arrangements - if on a cruise there are always taxis about and they are very helpful - had a great private tour Despite Mr Griere!
