We had dinner here for two. Start with the rhum, ti punch, and than be sure to ask if they have special dishes for the night. We had mix BBQ plate and the grilled tuna and it was delicious. Tip is not to sit outside if you are afraid of insects or missed your mosquito spray.

We came to David Vignau twice on our trip to Guadeloupe - once after we hiked La Soufriere and again on our last day in Guadeloupe. It's a simple patisserie but they crank out some beautifully made artisanal pastries, treats and chocolates. Over the course of 2 visits, we tried a run cake, a chocolate mousse napolean-like cake, a macaron-type pastry with cream and berries and a citrusy mousse-like cake. We also tried their croissants and some macarons. Each visit cost about low/mid 20 Euros. The store we went to was in a nondescript area in Baie Mahault. They have a few parking spots in front. We found that they have another store in the Carrefour Destreland shopping mall but didn't go. The staff here was very friendly and you can actually see their pastry chefs making these treats when you sit in their salon de the. Would definitely come back and recommend to others. Their treats are definitely on par with anything we've had before.

Great creole restaurant with a selection of local creole dishes. The service is fast and staff are very friendly. Only downside is that no prices are announced so you actually dont know for how much you are ordering. Based on our bill dishes are between 15-17euro.

During my recent visit to Guadeloupe, I had some very good food and had some perfectly acceptable food. Then I had lunch at Restaurant le Bord de Mer. After leaving the Chutes des Ecrevisses, we decided to drive into the nearest town to answer our hungry stomachs. As we entered to waterfront area, numerous families and visitors were seen under the awning eating abundant portions of delicious looking food. I asked a foursome from France the very simple question "c'est bon?" and got four smiles and four "c'est excellent" replies.
Cheerful and efficient service. Delicious food. A different menu each day. Cool breezes blowing off the bay. What more can you ask for? Three of us ordered the vivaneau (red snapper) and one the dombres ouassous (crayfish with gnocchi-like dumplings). All entrees come with accras (codfish fritters) and a giant plate of rice, beans, yam, plantain and salad (oh, that dressing...my mouth tingled!). The three of us who ordered the snapper were served family style...three generous filets in a tomato-based court bouillion. The dombres ouassous were also delicious and generous. The four of us ate well, with two beers, a bottle of water, a fruit punch and one dessert, for 85 Euros. I would drive an hour out of my way to return here. I suggest you do the same.

If you want to eat something after visiting the zoological park of the Mamalles and you don t want to eat with all the noisy kids at the cafeteria opposite the park, the only choice near by is the gite des Mamelles. We were warmly welcomed by the owner. We had a starter which my husband didn't eat because it was tasteless (furious avocado) though mine was nice (gratine of seafood). Then we had, beef brochette and coco chicken which both were so and so: nothing special. We had water and local beer so the price for these drinks was standard but in order to pay our lunch with a credit cards we had to try 3 different ones before succeeding! I guess some restaurants prefer cash!
