The Beaches and nice and there are many more beautiful Beaches all the way to Santander and beyond, but this is not 'sunny Spain'. Spain doesn't do 'quaint pretty coastal towns' too well either but Noja is lively and a good base.Well, there are beautiful walks one can do along the coast around Ajo and Langre beach and a lovely, more demanding one in Santona. You can go inland and visit Lierganes and the Valleys there, like Valle del Miera or Pas. So pretty, with grass like velvet. Visit Santillana del Mar, one of the prettiest towns in Spain. And of course Santander and Bilbao are not far. You will need a car to do all this, but it's easy to arrange at the airport. The roads are very good, people drive well. Avoid driving into Noja on a Friday afternoon or our of it on a Sunday afternoon or evening or before and after main holidays when roads can be busier and you will be OK. Santander can be reached by bus and Bilbao too, but it might be better to drive to, say, Muskiz and then take the train into central Bilbao. Or you can park in Barakaldo/Ansio and then take the 'metro'. Ask me if you have questions. My parents have an apartment in Noja and l know the area pretty well. Make sure you check out the Cantabria Infinita website and the Tourist office in Noja. By the way, the market is held on Wednesdays and they sell traditional pastries, breads and cheeses.

Lovely beach not too busy in July but it was quite windy and a little cloudy which probably made a difference. Lovely little alcoves, golden soft sand and very clean. Recommend a visit here when in the area. Our hotel recommended this beach over Laredo playa.

Joined a recent trip with Enjoy SUP School and had a great time despite the cold weather in January. It was my first time on a paddle board. Friendly instructors, a good group and beautiful natural surroundings. Enjoy SUP provided all the gear we needed and were very accomodating. I'd highly recommend them and look forward to joining them again when the weather is warmer!

The wetlands extend over a large area especially at low tide when the expanse of mud flats are exposed. There’s plenty of birdlife and I also noticed a couple of public viewing hides on the road into Santona - The road actually crosses the marshes for quite a distance. There’s a number of paths and trails which you can take and it’s enjoyable walking along seeing what you can spot. There’s an interpretive centre at the estuary end of the port area but unfortunately it was closed when I visited early March.

These guys made our holiday in Noja. Super friendly, super relaxed and great instructors. Definitely the perfect activity if you would like your kids (or you) to learn something new, or improve their skills on the board. Also very reasonably priced.

Noja , villa located within the Natural Park Victoria and Joyel Marshes , has a privileged nature for many outdoor activities , between sea and Mountains. At the same time it allows us to discover and enjoy some of the scenery and natural paradises most beautiful in Spain while living your own adventure .
Extremely reasonable and very helpful people. We payed €8 per person for 2 hours on the kayaks and €4 for the bikes for 2 hours. We really enjoyed renting off them multiple times!!
