In Santander, enjoy the beautiful beaches of Playa de la Magdalena and El Sardinero, a historic city center, and an epic planetarium, all while breathing in glorious coastal air. Of course, there are plenty of gorgeous Gothic cathedrals that will impress and inspire.

It's one of those places You would regard as a reliable reference for yourself And your friends when you are requested to recommend a place. Easy to reach, in a Pleasant setting, with summer dehors, located right on the city's Promenade. Staff is attentive And courteous. Seafood is fresh, various and well prepared. A Good place for groups And for hosting important guests. The view from the dehors is nice And relaxing, especially in the evening.

We went here for our anniversary dinner, after having been with friends about 4 years ago. it was just as yummy as we remembered, and we were surprised how inexpensive it was, for 2 people, in the evening, 3 courses with wine and coffee, it came to only 57 euros. They also had a very good menu del dia for 15 Euros, and you could easily eat in the evening without wine for 30 euros for 2. Nice atmosphere, soft music, and although no windows, nice and light. If you can't find it ask, most people seem to know where it is. Would reserve, on a Saturday night it was full, used a lot by the locals from what we've gathered.

We were recommended this restaurant by a local.
Barrio pesquero is not a charming zone; it lacks any ambience. On the contrary it may seem almost worrisome to be walking late at night but basically it is a humble fishermen neighbourhood. I wouldnt walk alone at night; during the day it is fine.
Food is absolutely fresh and delicious, and relatively cheap for the amount and quality.

This place fills up really quickly, so get there early. The staff are courteous, speak good English and are honest to a fault (see more at the bottom of this review). We had the anchovy dish recommended elsewhere in these reviews, salted gambas and cod with salsa verde. All was perfect and plentiful. My husband left a €10 tip. We were about 250 metres down the road when the waitress came running after us with the bill folder: he had left €50 by mistake. Good people.

This was a truly delightful dining experience! We arrived after making online Reservations, to find that the host had sent us a response while we were in transit, explaining that they were overbooked with a large group of 30! However, after showing us his online response, he led us into the rather small dining room, and there were two open tables! He asked us to pick our favorite, and the experience began! The welcome was warm and gracious, the owner/host took our wine order, and they brought a nice big bottle of Sparkling water with lime slices to the table, within minutes after our Seating! The host took our order, well before the group of 30, and not only were we served promptly, but the large group was also! They ordered individually, not a set menu, and there was no delay. This lovely and elegant little restaurant seats only about 65-70 people, and all the tables were filled by the time we began to feast. The total dinner bill with fine wine was more than reasonable, and the host took off my wife's starter, as he noticed that she did not clean the plate! Such a truly delightful experience, that we will enjoy when we return!

Our trip to Spain is drawing to an end and we have continued our search for the perfect lunch!!!
We ate here today: a little bit difficult to find if your expectation is Santander, its on the outskirts in a little village. The venue is lovely, typically Spanish and typical of this area. The lady who served us was welcoming and friendly, it was quiet when arrived at 2pm but was packed as the afternoon wore on. The food was fabulous: we had jamon and cheese croquettas, a delicious fish pudin( similar to a seafood terrine served with toast), I had red sea bass, he had beef steak, we shared a delicious bottle of wine, water and dessert, we had coffee to finish, the cost was 80Euros and excellent value, we highly recommend.

A group of us staying in nearby hotel. Visited 12.09 in early evening for a drink after Reading reviews on Trip advisor.
We were there about 7.15pm however the kitchen not open until 8.30pm. We had few drinks before moving on.
The place is small and pleasant. The Rock music mentioned in reviews nor as loud as I expected was really acceptable background music.
The decor and menu secured us another cist.
Today 13.09 about 2pm we were there again.
Rocío and staff in the open kitchen all very busy.
The place was almost full with a continuous flow of customers. A lot were local workers as well.
We chose
Jamón
Mussels in a sauce
A salad with fish and avocados
Chorizo
Beer wine and water .
Rocio introduced herself and it was a pleasure to visit the la leyenda de la mancha.
The Bill was under 74€.
Excellent value.
100% this place not to be missed

Italian food and Pizzería. Homemade food cooked at the moment and refresh everyday. Meal in here is good and decently priced. Testy pizza and pasta. The menu is not extensive but fine. No English menu right now, but the stuff can help you with big smile. Quiet and sweet space to eat (only on weekends) or dinner. It is off the beaten path so ask how to get there.
This is an unassuming, neighbourhood restaurant that far surpassed my expectations.
Cheerfully decorated it had a small but good menu of pizzas and pasta. The quality is superb and the prices unbelievable! But most of all, the staff are fabulous! They are happy to practice their English too, so if you are looking for value and a relaxed, friendly place, go here!

You MUST visit this restaurant, it really is top class in every way. We went with Spanish friends (the locals always know the good places) It is not in the main restaurant area of the city but is worth the effort to walk a little bit further, don't be put off by the unassuming exterior, or indeed the rather understated interior.... This place is all about the food.
The staff speak excellent English and there are English menus too. The food was of the very highest quality, we ordered a number of raciones (big portions to share rather than individual main courses). All were delicious but the hake red curry and fillet steak really stand out, so too does the chocolate and biscuit dessert. There is a good wine list also. The best surprise of the night was the bill! Very competitively priced given the ambience, efficiency of the staff and of course, the standard of the food. Go, you will not be disappointed.

Where to begin? Amazing food, simple and perfectly cooked. The service is exceptional and the wine..... oh the wine! A wine for every course and Sam's knowledge of wines is excellent. Even the tea was special. By the end of the night we felt so spoiled and special. He was completely transparent about pricing and the value was exceptional. We spent hours there and it felt like only an hour. Will definitely go back for more and cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you Sam and your wonderful chef.
