Burley-Villa School of Riding

So I guess it might be stating the obvious but you are taking a risk when you book. Firstly on the weather - it could be raining or it could be super hot either of which spoils it to be honest. We had a hot day. They told me they would stick to the shade but for a substantial part of the ride there was no shade and I don't think they altered their route much at all. I would advise anyone booking to book a morning not afternoon ride in the summer and to keep to the 90minutes as two hours without a drink in the heat takes the fun out of it.
The second risk is whether it is suitable to a complete beginner. We had one complete beginner who was very nervous and the first and last 15 minutes of the ride is on a road as the riding school is not in the forest itself. The horses are well trained but I could not help thinking that it was unsafe to have a person who has never ridden before at the back of a line of horses (the instructor was at the front to one side of the line) with cars coming from behind. No matter how well trained, horses are unpredictable and I did not like this aspect. Why not have someone walk with them the 15 minutes to the forest part - there was one busy junction to cross as well.
Having said all that, the experience in the forest itself was enjoyable and the stables well organised.

Chewton Glen = (For some reason I couldn't select just "a family" when writing my review?, as trip advisor only gave me the option of "a family with children" or a "family with teenagers"?. Strange. Anyhow just so you know I visited with my mum and sister. My sister is in her late 20's and I'm 30. Important for you to know when Reading client reviews. We are certainly not teenagers!!!.)
My review = Well what can I say?. The whole day was the most relaxing and special time I have had in a while. Just as good as when I visited last year for my 30th birthday treat my mum surprised mw with. All aspects of the day were top notch. The staff were happy and friendly, the food tasty and wholesome and the venue beautifully clean and set out.
The hotel/spa area is very sophisticated. The breakfast upon arrival is filling but healthy with some naughty treats (pain au chocolate) to balance it out!!!. The pots of homemade CG jam are lovely. The yogurt served with the coulis and granola was so rich and creamy. Lovely coffee too.
My sister is gluten and dairy free and she was accommodated well with her breakfast and lunch altered to her needs. It was lovely to see her enjoy a muffin, a chicken Sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup throughout the day without a fear that something would make her bloated and uncomfortable. The servers in the spa bar/dining area were really helpful in ensuring she was happy and had enough options to choose from. Thank you for this.
Water stations were located around the spa filled with fruit such as orange, lemon, mint and strawberry. Free juice and soft drinks could be enjoyed because of the package we paid for which was nice.
The treatments we all had were very relaxing. Three facials with back and shoulder massages. All three ladies who gave us our treatments tailored the products to our skin tones and types, because when we met up afterwards it was clear that my mum for example had enjoyed a facial that was for more mature skin. My sister and I had lotions and potions that smelt zesty but my mum thought she had products that were more eucalyptus based.
The spa itself is lovely. Big lockers, stations to dry hair and apply makeup with cotton puds/hairspray/deodorant on hand encase a customer needed something they had forgotten. Lovely showers and individual changing rooms for privacy.
The salt foot spa was a nice experience because I have not seen other spas offer this. The sauna and steam room nice too.
The swimming pool was lovely and long with crystal clear water. The outdoor hot tub was a dream and the jet spa pool was just amazing. I spent 2.5 hours literally going from one section to another allowing the jets of water to massage my achey muscles. Divine.
I really did have a fabulous day and I hope to save up some money to treat myself to some pre bridal treatments as I get married in the summer of 2018. I would be interested in speaking to someone from CG to perhaps work out a treatment plan so that I can go every 4-6 weeks in the spring and summer of 2018 to get wedding ready.
Thank you for such a lovely day, we really had a magical time. Emma, Southampton.

Had a really nice meal here- nothing spectacular in a culinary way- but good service, reasonable prices and well-prepared simple pub food. Great play area for children of 5-12 yo. Plenty of parking and views across the open Forest, so a post-dinner walk would be a definite possibility if desired

Assuming that you are looking at this review because you like fishing then this facility is for you.
Lots of choice with a number of lakes, all different and with a good mixture of species.
Reasonable on site facilities such as toilets, a simple cafe, campsite for tents, vans and motorhomes and an on-site well stocked tackle shop.
If you are new to the hobby this is a great venue to develop your skills, if experienced you will have an interesting days sport.

Well worth a visit, lots of little areas rented by retailers. All sorts of things for sale. I had a walk down memory lane with, "do you remember this, do you remember that, omg nanny had one of them". Even if you don't buy anything the experience is well worth it.

What a fantastic experience, I would like to say we have just escaped but sadly we were caught by the scientists!
The ambience and attention to detail is spot on, the rooms and props are very high quality and the whole experience is totally immersive.
The welcoming host briefed us on the plot and then set us up ready for our escape.
The clues came when we needed them but not too early and didn't help us along too easily.
It was pitched at the perfect level and definitely kept us guessing, we thought we were pretty smart cookies until today!
Will be recommending this to all my friends and family, it was a great way to start off the weekend!

Forest Arts Centre

Reviewed By Tris10Tor - London

Forest Arts is a great place and offers the local community access to fine art Exhibitions, talks, lectures, groups and films which is a real bonus. For those that live in cities with masses going on you might find the centre a little small but for locals who may not have access to a cinema, gallery etc Forest Arts brings these experiences to them and as such has great value to the community.
