The Bergkastel ski arena is not very large, but even as an experienced skier I like it quite well. The slopes are always well prepared and you can find runs for every level. There are also some very good restaurants which are good for food and drinks. My recommendations are the Goldseehütte, the Lärchenalm and the new Stierenalm. There is also the option to visit with the same ski pass two smaller ski resorts in Italy (Heideralm and Schöneben). A public bus brings you there in a few minutes. One of my favorites in Schöneben is the black downhill to the "Rojer Schihütte".

Alta val venosta . Resia
lake is too many a stop on their way through but its worth a longer stop. You can hike and bike around the lake but also in the beautiful Mountains around it

Very charming castle, a nice video at vist end. Chaser doesn't speak English, just German. Avoid our mistake, who drove till the caste on a very bad path: there's a free shuttle taking there.

we have visited Alpenquell in Samnaun Compatsch just for a relaxation after a long ski day. As a frequent sauna visitor we enjoyed three saina's (95 C, 55 C and infra-red one as well as turkish bath. Spacy sauna's, neat, well kept and maintained. There are enough cold showers, yet we would prefer cold water bath. Relaxation room is large, beatiful view on Mountains.
Swimming pool is large enough to get muscles working again during swim, yet for me amount of chloor was irritating my eyes.
Closet and showers are wel maintained, price for 2,5 hours is around 19 euro. Rather reasonable but yet this is personal. There is also massag possibilities but have to be reserved in advance

An immaculate ski area on a steep mountain with excellent ski lifts. Ideally a resort for Intermediate skiers due to the steep slopes but plenty of wide runs for those in need of space to traverse. Lots of snow making kit too if the weather is not ideal. Thoroughly enjoyed our week there.

The very beautiful and calm lake, is the highest place in the alps, where waterlilies grow, at 1725m. It is a nature reserve, surrounded by spruce trees. An perfect place to rest.
It can be reached from Nauders, first going up with the chair cable car to "Kleiner Mutzkopf" at 1812m, or walking up, and then walking on a trail for about one hour. Take into consideration, that there are several ups and downs on this trail before reaching the lake, so good shoes could help.

You should definitely stop at the spot and spend a couple of minutes there. The 14th century church tower is the only thing left to see from a village sacrificed to produce electricity. You can make nice funny photos, like holding the tower in your hand... and also try to hear church bells, that - the legend goes - can sometimes be heard from the bottom of the artificial lake. To be practical - do not forget to pay the parking, 50 eurocent or more if you want to wait to hear the bells toll.

All kinds of things to discover for little kids. Ours (age 4) spend hours with the water and little digging machines while dad was changing the course of the small river. The gold washing part is really funny for kids, looks like real gold!
The cable car up the hill is beautiful and the area is also good for hiking, but we spend almost all time at the goldwasser area. Bring sunscreen in summer (and a bit of cash for ice cream).
