Laxnes Horse Farm is a family run business and the oldest tour operator in Iceland. Founded in 1968, the farm offers horseback riding tours all year round for travelers interested in the gentle Icelandic horse.
Had lots of fun on a cold day in February. Laxnes provided warm clothing, a helmet and an appropriate horse for you.,They gave us some instructions, let us into the stables to visit the horses. Our two hour ride was out in the beautiful country side. Unlike so many rides, we did more gaits than just walking. The warm drinks and snacks at the end hit the spot.

The Golden Circle Classic tour takes you to see three of the must see attractions in South Iceland - Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir geothermal area and Thingvellir National Park. We build our tours upon this classic tour as well as we have added more activities like snorkelling, snowmobiling, horse riding and many more to the Golden Circle Tour! Be sure to look into these tours, they are all made to create great memories!
The Golden Circle is a must-do for anyone traveling in Iceland. Hits many key sights: Waterfalls, lava fields, Pingvellir National Park, geysirs. Our guide, Ryna (sp?), was very friendly and insiteful. She even sang to us in church at the last sight. Grayline was extremely accommodating and allowed us to change our tour date twice with no extra charges or problems.

The quintessential swimming pool...for locals it is a much-healthier alternative to meeting at a bar. So many things to do...the huge water slide, the freezing cold water pots and the trip to the sauna...so well kept up and wrapped in the super friendly Icelandic love of life that everyone here has.

Alafoss wool store is located in an old factory by the waterfall Alafoss in Alafosskvos, Mosfellsbaer. You will find a wide range of traditional Icelandic wool sweaters, knitting yarn, and other wool accessories. You can also experience this important side of Iceland's industrial history by visiting the factory building which exhibits a selection of old knitting machinery and photographs from the early days.
Might say it was a pilgrimage. Took the number 15 bus out. Bought tickets for the bus the day before at one of the tourist info centers in town.
The directions on their website could use some clarification. After you get off the bus, turn around and walk back down the hill, putting the KFC behind you. Look for a white building with a red roof and stay on the path in front of that, continue straight, don't veer to the right, and at the bottom, before an athletic field, turn right and continue through the tunnel. When you get out of the tunnel, and reach a fork in the trial, veer left, over the bridge, then right, stay on the right hand side of the road, and let the yarn fumes guild you the rest of the way.
I came prepared with patterns and quantities, my only limiting factor was room in my suitcase! Honestly, given the cost of meals here, the yarn is the best deal going. If you are a knitter, no need to pay for a sweater in a shop when you can come out here and pick your own colors. Sort of loved this shop and am very glad to have been able to see it.

We are a fresh thinking privately owned fully licensed Booking company delivering a customer focused approach to finding the right holiday for you. From a short horse trip around the capital to a horse trip in the Wilderness all around Iceland , we offer a lot‘s of choice. We have over 30 years of experience making horse tours all around Iceland and all our multi-day tours are with local guides.
It was my first time to ride horse which is amazing. Do recommend people join horse riding and separate from golden circle tour in different days. I join in the same day which is cheaper but totally exhausted . We do not have enough time to have fun for the golden circle tour . Every stop only 20 -30minutes but transportation take more than an hour.

We went for a swim with our 10-yr old daughter. Highly recommended in change of regular Iceland sights. Wow, what a great place and great value. Tickets are very cheap. Less then EUR 5 pp (half for kids). The outdoor pool(s) are great and nicely (Icelandic) heated to 28/30 deg C. So even in cold weather you can easily go out doors for a swim. Nice stuff and slides for the kids to play and several hot tubs to relaxed.
I was highly impressed by how clean and proffesional the dressing rooms, lockers and showers where. They even have a dryer for your wet swimming gear, If all others could be like this.....You get a bracelet for a free locker.

Beforehand all communication with Anna was very fast and clear (which bus to take, the direction & the bus stop). And from the very first moment you meet Anna, you immediately feel welcome! Together with her dog Dolci, she guides you through the lovely surroundings of Mosfellsbaer and invites you to her home, where a variety of typical Icelandic coffee time delicacies wait for you. I also had the privilege to meet some of her family members and friends. This is absolute a really “natural” way to discover everyday life of Icelandic people, just outside the capital of Reykjavik, in a lovely environment and atmosphere. I highly recommend booking a trip with Anna tours!

I am one enthusiastic local guide and a proud owner of a small mini bus, in Iceland. I do private day tours, as well as my own tours that will soon be bookable on my website. I do my best to focus on the concept "slow travel", where we enjoy and experience, rather then keeping up with time table and where guiding becomes more of a conversation with my guests, then a monolog of facts.
We were a group of 8 travelling together and we wanted to see as much as we could around Reykjavik in the 5 days we were there. Thyri picked us up at the airport in her great little bus and dropped us at our hotel, having given us a really interesting introduction to Iceland en route. The following day she and her husband Einar took us on the Golden Circle tour - there was a lot of snow on the roads, and towards the end of the day there were blizzard conditions, but we felt totally safe at all times. Sadly the weather prevented us from doing any of the other possible tours with Thyri, but she took us to the Blue Lagoon and back to the airport at the end of our stay.
Thyri is a charming person, with a wealth of knowledge about her country and a very relaxed style. She was flexible - essential when weather conditions are poor - and she took us to places off the normal tourist route. She really went the extra mile to make our stay memorable and we would thoroughly recommend her to enrich your stay in Iceland.

The Hliðavollur course is truly a feast for the eyes. The very first impression is the stunning views and great food in the modern clubhouse. Perfectly visible on clear days over the sea looms the snow-capped glacier of Snæfellsjokull. The 18-hole championship course plays down and along the ocean, with the bay and majestic Esja mountain as a backdrop.
The game of golf has "birdies", "eagles" and the "albatross", did you know Iceland has birds called Puffins? We suggest that when golfing in Iceland or anywhere in the world that when one shoots 4 over par on a hole, that one use the phrase - " I shot a "Puffin"! We feel that is a better term than a quadruple bogey. Great Course at Mosfellsbaer and the staff were friendly and helpful, recommend this course to anyone visiting Reykjavik looking for a golfing experience.
