We got to the Śnieżnik in very nice weather, but still it was very windy - this is highest point in the area, so it's not sheltered by other Mountains or Forests, so the winds do what they want. A fourth part of the summit belong to Czechia, while remaining three fourths are in Poland's boundaries. There's a lot of signs of some 19th century activities, such as ruins of viewing tower and other metal remains - all of that were parts of a plan to draw tourists attention, in the beginning of tourism in the area, and to visit this mountain, and all of that were made by German rulers - Sudetes were part of German empire till the end of WWII. Marked trails allow to climb the summit from Polish side (Schronisko na Śnieżniku being a great base for such trips) as well as from Czechia side. Northern slopes of Śnieznik are protected in nature reserve "Śnieżnik Kłodzki", and pretty much everything you can see on Polish side is covered by Śnieżnicki Landscape Park. And on the Czechia side there's large "Kralicky Sneznik" national nature reserve.

We where there for a international teambuilding event during a long weekend. We went snowshoe walking uphill starting at hotel Vista and topped that with a midnight walk on the tower. Only the next afternoon we could really appreciate the stunning views and the sheer heights which we only could feel before... Recommend to all and will go there again, then with family.

However, it would take a few hours and time was not on our side - maybe next time while back in Lower Silesia. Visiting the Mine an easy way means you're gonna spend there around an hour or less. The guide is really passionate about his work - extremely positive and interestingly-speaking person:)

It's probably the smallest Polish spa town I've seen. And one of the oldest, first mentioned in the beginning of 19th century. There're 3 source of healing water, called: Emilia, Kazimierz, Renata. There's also three spa hospital buildings, where you can spend couple of weeks improving your health. Very nice park in the centre of village, with few heritage spa buildings right outside it. All closed up in a quarter within four streets. Small, but nice, peace and quiet for everyone.

This waterfall was in tourist interest since end of 18th century. In 19th century German administration decided to increase it's popularity by introducing some new features, such as a metal bridge, viewing platforms and artificially raised rocky treshold, so the waterfall was even higher, and was reaching 30 meters - that was only uncovered by a big flood in1997 - the waters took down that artificial threshold and now waterfall is 22 meters high, second highest in Sudetes Mountains, and that's all natural now. Quite a few entries to the reserve, with most popular from the main road, across the outdoor Seating from Dom nad Wodospadem. There's also a big car park there - charge for non residents.

Slopes offer variety, well prepared and offering choice. Bit on the pricey side given that there is only one modern 4 person chairlift for red slope skiers.
Downside is terribly organised "karczma" where you lose too much time standing in long queues to get your food. More frustrating is that the solution is obvious - hire more people instead of looking at empty tables. We recommend take your own food - nearby waiter service restaurant takes equally long time to have your meal.
On site ski hire centres offer excellent choice - generally great place to ski ....

We have visited the park already several times. With kids it's absolutely fabulous. You can sit on a bench while your kids are playing around with water or visiting the wooden maze. We love the place and come back regularly. Each time there is something new...

Bylo wtedy blisko katastrofy, jednakże zapora wytrzymała napór wody. w następnych latach gruntownie ja wyremontowano, i udostępniono turystom.

This wooden viewing tower on top of Czarna Góra has been built in 2001, in time when just below the summit a huge skiing centre was being built. Czarna Góra mountain is very strange one - much lower than Śnieżnik (it is a part of Śnieżnik massif), but higher than all other peaks in area, provides magnificent views in all directions. Raising sharply above Kotlina Kłodzka plain Czarna Góra is sometimes taken as the highest mountain, even if it's more than 200 meters lower than Śnieżnik.
