The seat of the Municipal Museum of Kastela is located in one of the best-preserved fortresses in Kastela - Vitturi Castle. Kastela are the second city by population in Split-Dalmatia County, comprised of seven historical villages spreading along the coast of the Kastela Bay. The permanent museum display is located at the second floor of the Castle Vitturi.
Beautiful museum, great combination of old and new, efficient and welcoming staff in a stunning setting. A must-see when you are in the area, a quick stop between Split and Trogir - well worth your time! It is quite astonishing how what is a relatively small museum in a small cultural community can achieve such high quality heritage and cultural programmes. Great for families! Visited many times - every time fantastic.

Best way to travel from Split airport to the Old Town and surroundings (also long destinations: Zadar, Makarska, Dubrovnik, Mostar, etc.). Good value for money, clean cars (limousine and family car). We took them twice because Dina and Mario are very friendly local drivers, besides they recomend good Beaches, interesting sights and restaurants in Dalmatia.

I am a certified Open Water diver and my husband is a snorkeler. The owner, Ivica, picked us up from Split Harbor and took us out on his little boat to the "tunnels" on the Island of Ciovo. We dove at the endof dive season in Croatia (end of October). There were some schools of fish and lots of sea urchin, but not much more. I was having some mask and buoyancy issues, so I couldn't enjoy the dive as well as I could of, but the mask was my fault because I chose the wrong one. My husband had a great time snorkeling along the reef.
Overall, i thought highly of the divemaster, but the dive itself was just ok. I originally booked 2 dives, but only decided to do 1 after the mask left me with a bit og a headache. Would probably have a better experience earlier in the season.

Bedalov winery is a small Croatian family winery located in Kaštel Kambelovac, near the city Split, in Dalmatian region of Croatia. We only nurture indigenous vine varieties in our vineyard on south slopes of hill Kozjak in Kaštela. Practicing agriculture and producing handcrafted high-quality organic wines is at the core of our business. We welcome all guests to unique wine experience in the traditional local environment at our wine tasting. All wine tastings are only possible by prior arrangement.
My wife and I called ahead, strongly suggested, and had their wine tasting paired with a tapas plate. They have a second tasting option that includes a full dinner. The owner's daughter hosted the two of us as we sat overlooking the Adriatic and listening to the splashing water on the shore. We took our time and two hours flew by learning about the wines and wine making in Croatia. The wine was excellent, the food perfect, the hosting great and the walk down the beach afterward made a full, beautiful afternoon. Great change of pace from Split. Highly recommend this.

Equally lovely by day and at night when the restaurants set out tables and chairs in the squares and courtyards of the walled city. South facing Promenade where the cruise ships and super yachts pull up was best avoided for food as the quality of food and the character of the restaurants within the walled city were both a lot better.

The birthplace of Zinfandel Wine, the wine, hospitality, and vineyards all very memorable. The owner was both host and doscent and extremely knowledable......knows most of the US Zinfandel vintnors. Enjoyed both sunset and moonrise under a delighful pergola in the vineyard with spectacular views of Split and the nearby Mountains.

The map we had wasn't the best so it tookus awhile to find it, but it's really impressive when you get there. The field is fenced and there's a gate in front. Off to the right side there's an information board telling you the Romans probably planted it around 500 AD. It certainly shows it's lifetime of turbulence. It's had fire, there are huge splits in it. The main one makes a great photo op. The tree still produces oil olives, New growth was evident. It was very inspirational.

Dedicated to St. John the Baptist, patron saint of Kastel Stari this Baroque church was consecrated in 1641. It features five marble altars and its treasures include the revered miraculous icon Our Lady of Grace, as well as tomb of St. Felicio Christian martyr from 4th century, who is the local patron saint.
Really pretty little church, made of stone, just across the Castle Rušinac. It reminds the visitor of a romantic event from 1681. The story is about the tragic love of Miljenko and Dobrila (google it). They were buried in this church.
