We was staying 10 minutes from this restaurant and it's been the best vegetarian food I've had in all the places I've visited in Croatia which has been a lot!
The veggie lasagna is lovely!!
I recommend the house white wine and it doesn't give you a hangover because it's locally made and doesn't have any chemicals added.
The place is cosy inside, id recommend sitting in the ship like bit of you want to be inside, or outside is lovely too.
I found all the staff very friendly and the place has a great atmosphere.
Our last visit last night, some locals came and sang and played some songs, which was nice.
I'd highly recommend this place.
You may need to book as it gets busy !

Old Dalmatian konoba (native restaurant) with home made dishes. We're cooking internationally recognized meals as well as dishes only related to our Dalamatian (Mediterranean) area like under the pan meals wich can be tasted only in our lovely Dalmatia.
We had a quick stopover before we headed to Berlin and decided to go with this restaurant as another was fully booked. Thank goodness we did!!
I ordered a tuna steak with a side of grilled vegetables and blitva to share with my husband. Hubby ordered grilled calamari. My tuna was one of the best I've ever had, the vegetables super tender and tasty. Hubby enjoyed his calamari, it was cooked Nicely however preferred my tuna steak. Very decent portion. The wine was delicious and waiters polite.
We liked it so much we came back again after Berlin! I ordered the same and my husband ordered the pork schnitzel with a side of cabbage salad. Also delicious.
We had our baby with us and they were very accommodating.
Only downfall is the palacinke (crepes) was a bit chewy and my husband was disappointed with the dessert and waiting time is a bit long for food. But we didn't mind as we had good wine and great company :-) would recommend!

The only restaurant that ever appeared busy and after being turned away one evening we learnt to book in advance. The food was consistently good and very reasonably priced. I can understand Adam W's annoyance as tables appeared to be reserved for the whole evening and left empty for very long periods before people arrived. We found the staff helpful and pleasant and would definitely go back if in Kastela again.

This is less a restaurant and more a food stall. There are no tables and people line up to get their sandwiches. The lines can be quite long as the staff grills the meat as needed.
The Sandwich was awesome. We got a Sandwich with Cevapi, a grilled meat dish from Bosnia and Herzegovinia, ajvar, a red bell pepper and eggplant sauce, and kajmak, a Balkan clotted cream. Oh, what would I give to have another Sandwich from Kantun Paulina right now!

After a very tiring day traveling across Split we fortunately ended up at Villa Spiza based on the recommendation at Lonely Planet for a dinner. We did not make any advance reservation, hence the chances looked bleak when we arrived. There was a long queue, hence we had to wait almost 45 mins, however had fun while we waited. The 2 ladies managing almost everything (Everything!) served beer while we waited and the time went by watching people across the narrow lane and by the the smell of sea food.
Whatever we selected (Seafood pasta, Mussels, seafood risotto, calamari) were heavenly! The hosts made us feel warm and enjoy our food till the end.. …think we were the last to leave the place! (actually, never wanted to )
Be there.. try Villa Spiza … you will get much more in the 2 hours you spend there!

Great wine selection. Even by the glass the selection is good with over half a dozen reds and another half dozen whites and a few rose available. The food looked and smelled great, I didn't try it. Saturday night had live music. A couple of guys with guitars. They were pretty good. A bit pricey. The bartender was fairly knowledgeable about the wines. All of the staff seemed good.

CHOPS GRILL Steak & Seafood is a modern steakhouse offering prime meats from all over the world, local fish steaks and some contemporary pastas and salads. The main grill is in the dining area, offering a great view of our grill master in action. It is perfectly located just off the main Marmontova street, and still set in a way that offers enough space and privacy for our guests. Reservations recommended. For groups and private parties please contact us directly. We are open for breakfast (from 8 AM), lunch and dinner daily.
Enjoyed our dinner here but was a little cold given it was December. The staff were friendly and the service and food was good. If coming here in winter months, dress warm as although enclosed/covered and heated with warmers it still is outdoors. Would recommend though.

At our last night in Kastel Kambevolac, we decided to eat at Odmor, because of the good recommendations in TripAdvisor.
A very popular place and only with free tavles inside (lightly airconditioned). The waiters were very friendly and serviceminded. Our food and redwine (a local Zinfandel) were very nice and the price is also ok...but when the time to pay came...they do not accept creditcard...only cash!
So if you want my last Star for your restaurant?...get an agreement and start accepting creditcard.

We heave rooms and restourant, our homemade wine, pasta ham and oil, our 2 special plates:truffles and shells.
We took a day trip from Italy to Croatia and found this restaurant in Kastel. We were greater by Adele (owner), and were promptly seated. Adele speaks excellent English. We both ordered the schnitzel and wurst with beer and wine. Most excellent! We had two full meals, adult beverages and a loaf of bread for €23!

Luka ice cream cakes & a new ice cream shop in the center of Split. All desserts, cakes and ice cream that we are prepared to tr adicionalan way from fresh, carefully selected ingredients. In an effort to produce the highest quality ice cream, our pastry every morning using real fruit avoiding additional sweeteners and artificial coloring. Cold is pushing our only preservative. Besides you will be pleasantly surprised by the natural, pastel color Pistacchio, many will ask seductive flavor of rum combined with nuts back to your childhood. We are sure that you not other flavors such as lavender, rosemary, melons, strawberries, etc. Will not leave you indifferent. Come and taste the difference!
We are living consumer world, PR is everything. If it looks nice and sound fancy it is not necesseraly of good guality.
Cheep preparation base ingredients, nothing to do with Croatian traditional pastry and cakes or ice cream.
Think about this when you walk to this place.....
There are so many better options for you to enjoy good quality sweet bite in Split.
