I went to the Karratha W.A. visitor centre and found the lady there most helpful. She told us the sites to see as well as some information about Dampier. We always go to the visitor centre wherever we go. People are always friendly and helpful.

I provide Aboriginal cultural tours of the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi traditional country in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, which includes visiting places such as the Murujuga and Millstream-Chichester National Parks, rock art sites and learning about Aboriginal songlines, stories, bush food and medicines.
Clinton pulls up in his 4WD how ya going mate (with a big smile) a quick chat radio check and off we go. With a few people in his 4WD and us in ours following behind. Then the commentary starts of the local people and sacred sites and because he is on his traditional land Clinton can take you where no others can. We viewed local indigenous rock art, Dingos, Kangaroos and Goannas ate bush tucker and cooked kangaroo tail on a fire traditional way. Clinton spoke of dream time story and of song and spoke in 3 languages the local language local indigenous and neighboring aboriginal language. Swam in clear waterholes had lunch under the shade of a paper bark tree and talked about the land. This is a awesome family day or like us just Sharon and I. We both enjoyed the land and the stories of how the land was formed. Clinton took us to a place he has never taken people to before to a place that he had not been to from a young boy. What an amazing ridge leading to a waterhole. Clinton mate thank for sharing your life your land your people's song story and your secret place. We will be back I got some serious 4WD in and the missus loved it. Win Win for me lol 100% must do in the Pilbara

We had seen Broome staircase on a previous visit but this was equally beautiful and not as crowded. The beach itself prior to the event was of high interest with crabs, shells and colourful rocks. Check with the visitor information centre for dates and times. If coming in June check out dates and time your visit to coincide as it is worth it.

Swimming pools (the 25m pool is heated), basketball, squash, badminton, soccer and footy fields, to name a few.
This place is huge.
The Onyx Cafe has a good range, creche, meeting and function rooms (had the company christmas party here last year) and places to just relax.
A gym for people who want to get hot and sweaty.
Great for families, couples and/or soloists.
A great asset to the community.

If you visit Karratha this is a great walk. Drive to the water tanks above the Karratha Visitor's Centre and, using their Yaburara Heritage Trail guide, walk this impressive trail. You will be amazed to see so much significant Aboriginal art on the rocks during your walk. The engraved rock art, called Petroglyphs is significant and impressive. We felt like explorers finding so many carvings on rocks and midden sites where carving stones abound along the path.

Having been touring national parks in Western Australia Millstream-Chichester was a big let down. The 40km road from the entrance to the campsites and attractions is heavily corrugated. The $10 camping fee per person/per night is higher than many other national parks that are not only more accessible but also offer a lot more to do. On the positive side It is certainly picturesque in places and Deep Reach is a great swimming spot, but isn't within close proximity to the camping spots.

You’ll be astonished at the picturesque views of the Dampier Archipelago and the stunning blue water when viewed from our helicopter. The contrast between the bright white Beaches and the rugged Pilbara landscape is a breathtaking sight. Keep an eye out for turtles, manta rays, dugongs and a range of other marine life.
Bought the 45 mins flight over the Dampier Archipelago which was AWESOME. Our pilot gave us a quick safety briefing and we were on our way. Flew over the town then out to the Islands. Saw lots of whales, turtles, dolphins and manta rays. Lovely to see such wonderful scenery from 1000 ft, totally different perspective than from the ground. Even the juxtapose of the gas and mining operations with the beautiful Beaches and Islands was amazing. Flight was over way too soon, very enjoyable indeed. Thoroughly recommended.
