We were there w/c 13 March and had a beautiful sunny week which alas meant the snow was a bit slushy towards the end of the day. Well worth visiting if in the area (we were based in Galtur) and want to avoid the "busyness" of Iscgl. Good wide easy cruising reds. Loved Piste 9 which runs past the Huisler Alm which is a sunny spot for food and drinks. Well maintained, mainly chairlifts. Beautiful location.

An immaculate ski area on a steep mountain with excellent ski lifts. Ideally a resort for Intermediate skiers due to the steep slopes but plenty of wide runs for those in need of space to traverse. Lots of snow making kit too if the weather is not ideal. Thoroughly enjoyed our week there.

One of the more popular ski resorts in the Tirols.
No question - St Anton is not a place for beginners or even lower intermediate skiers. The runs can be challenging. However, it is fabulous if you are a competent skier. With the new Flexenbahn lift you can easily move across a broad range of slopes from town to town - through the areas of Zurs, Lech and all the way to Warth. Each has its own personality. Views are dramatic throughout the ski area. There is a wide range of places to eat with well-made Austrian specialties. In March we never experienced more than about 5 minutes wait at lifts. One of the best places to ski which had the least crowds was on the Albonagrat. Be sure to ski over to Lech and take the Rufikopf gondola to a long blue run that feels like you are on top of the world. One warning - the long 100 run to the base of the Flexenbahn has steep pitches, a lot of skiers and can get bumpy. The town has a nice Main Street with a good range of restaurants and bars.

Skiing has been celebrated at the White Ring for over 60 years and the legendary race of the same name has been taking place for 11 years. For winter sports enthusiasts the White Ring presents a sporting challenge with about 22 km of skiing pistes, 5,500 m of difference in altitude and a sightseeing tour with viewing platforms.
Have done this a few times and always try and do it again when in Lech. The new lifts over from St Anton make it possible to do this if staying there as well.
Highlights are always the views and also the ski routes - if your a normal on piste skier they can give you some good challenging moments but still pretty well groomed.
Low point is the polling ... some of the runs are dubiously connected!

we have visited Alpenquell in Samnaun Compatsch just for a relaxation after a long ski day. As a frequent sauna visitor we enjoyed three saina's (95 C, 55 C and infra-red one as well as turkish bath. Spacy sauna's, neat, well kept and maintained. There are enough cold showers, yet we would prefer cold water bath. Relaxation room is large, beatiful view on Mountains.
Swimming pool is large enough to get muscles working again during swim, yet for me amount of chloor was irritating my eyes.
Closet and showers are wel maintained, price for 2,5 hours is around 19 euro. Rather reasonable but yet this is personal. There is also massag possibilities but have to be reserved in advance

Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is THE holiday region for families in winter as well as in summer. The skiing area is situated on a sunny alpine plateau above the Tyrolean Inn Valley and offers 212 skiable kilometres of pistes, 68 lift and cable car systems, 112 km maintained cross-country skiing trails, 10 freeride routes, 9 fun areas and many more winter fun sports. Also in summer Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis is a very special holiday destination. Amongst 500 km of signposted hiking trails the destination provides a bike park, countless biking trails, the summer toboggan run Fisser Flitzer, a summer fun park, the family coaster "Schneisenfeger" and many other attractions.
This resort caters for families with young children. Lift operators are helpful and friendly. Ski school instructors are good with children. Restaurants cater for children and some even have microwave ovens and games cupboards. The runs down to Fiss village are fantastic. Some runs around Serfaus are very steep, so try them first before taking your young children down them. The accent by car to the village is steep and there are a number of sharp turn.

Samnaun is known for it's duty free shopping. There are many types of stores - watches, jewelry, alcoholic beverages, souvenir, clothes, and much more. The stores, restaurants, and hotels line the street that is a hill. Samnaun is also a ski area.
A sweet surprise in the middle of all the stores sitting back a bit from the street was a small little chapel. There was no name on it, but candles were burning bright in the chapel the evening I was there.
