Lago Tota (Tota Lake) is a big high altitude lake with a sandy beach. It offers boat rides, horse rides, quad bikes (for whatever reason) and a decent restaurant. It could be an incredible place but it seems like nobody sees it's potential. The restaurant installations could be much better with little effort. The beach could be cleaner and the way there could be in better shape as well as better signaled. Also I doubt you'll find anybody who speaks English or anything else.
In resume is a beautiful place with poor services. Even though I marked average, if you're in the region, I recommend you to go see it, you won't regret it.

The sculpture is impressive, also the the landscape is worthy to appreciate, however it is extremely touristic, and all the comercial activities behind deploys its historical value. It demands a protection, the general condition of the monument it is pretty bad.

We had a very good tour from mongui into paramo de oceta. Even if the weather wasn't so good with too much clouds, we enjoyed all the informations given about the muiscas, their stories and their social habits... Which were interesting to compare to ours...
Thanks again ;)

The Plaza is the heart of historic Tunja. There is a large and impressive statue of Simon Bolivar in its centre where locals gather to socialise. The Cathedral is found here too. Radiating from the Plaza are the historic streets of Tunja where a variety of old and modern shops can be found.

Enjoy a great outdoor space with the best views. In our 45 fanegadas you will be able to see more than 500 animals, most of them rescued of the illegal traffic of fauna and received of circuses, you will be able to see wild and exotic animals besides to know the animals of the farm. A unique experience. We work and work closely with environmental corporations as well as environmental police. If after touring all our animal facilities you still have energy you can enjoy our amusement area for big and small. For the big ones we offer 5 adventure attractions like buggies, cavalcade, guatikable (tirolínea of 500m), guatisky (extreme pendulum) and climbing wall; for children (less than 1.20m) we have pony carousel, tricycle, miniguatikable, inflatable... After a long day of walking and playing at all we get the appetite, for this is the area of restuarant, with variety of delicious dishes à la carte in a rustic atmosphere. The hotel is also at your service. We are waiting for you!
Really, not kidding, I have visited many zoos around the world and this is my #1. Why? because of the life quality of the animals. The animals are recovered from Circuses or other zoos. And they have a lot of space. Please visit them. It is really beautiful.

15minutes from Sogamoso plaza principal it's easily accessible walking. The staff were friendly and helpful. The exhibition was interesting although a little dated. The site includes a number of traditional Muisca houses (recreations) and the temple of sum, which is quite impressive. Cost to enter 7k COP per adult.

Too bad most foreign tourists do not know about this church. There are only a few of these "indoctrinating churches" left in Colombia and each one is fascinating for how they evangelized the indigenous people. This one features a mirrored altar which attracted the Muisca people, as well as a fantastical central arch with scenes of the Apocalypse: dragons, archangels, and a devil towering over them all to instill fear and insubordination of the natives. Unbelievable!
