Not many people going to Belur-Halebid visit this temple as it is not very popular. But it is truly a hidden treasure. Any history, art and architecture lover could spend hours here looking at the wonderful carvings and craftsmanship of this beautiful temple. If you love architecture and archaeology this is indeed a place that should be in your Bucket List.

we had been there during current Mahamastakabhishek ceremony...which still going on. The whole experience is awesome. We went there in the morning hours about 11 am (not so early as such), It was hot. we had used socks. which was good decision. we had taken only 2 bottles of water among 9 people...which were really very less. A new staircase(3rd) has been made. Now there are 3 staircases; one for going up, one for coming down and one for Doli (4 people carry a person) people. The stairs are about 640. It is little difficult to climb...but most can climb the mountain without any problem. The Abhishekh on17th were really excellent ( above par), mesmerising. No words can described the feeling during abhishek of milk, haldi etc. The structure made for people to see and watch the Abhishekh was excellent. There was no arrangement to save people from hot sun. The abhishek lines were very improperly made and called. The crowd waiting to do abhishek was unorganised... ladies standing in between the lines were surely pushed from all sides and was surely against the modesty of the ladies. People were standing in the queue for hours like that.

This place is supposed to be an abandoned church. Probably 200 years old.
About 20 Kms from Hasan (country side road). During heavy rains, part of this church is known to be immersed in backwaters.
Nice place for a short ride or drive + visit.
* Place is not at all clean as it's not maintained by any department or organisation. Senseless fellow citizens have scribbled all over and littered this place with bottles, plastics and what not.
I wish a guard or a cop should be appointed and probably an entry fee should be levied to preserve what is left.

Bisile view point is really beautiful. Once we reach the view point, we can see the beautiful landscape of western ghats, the river flowing amidst the forest, and also a water fall at a far distance make this place excellent for viewing. The cool breeze make the climate more pleasant.
Do visit and stay here for a couple of hours to experience the nature.

Shravanabelagola occupies a significant place in the Jain legacy of Karnataka, for being the place where Chandragupta, the founder of the Mauryan dynasty, became a Jain ascetic after relinquishing his throne. Chandragiri (Chikkabetta) is the place where Chandragupta breathed his last. It is a small hill is located just opposite to the Vindhyagiri hill. Vindhyanagiri hosts the 58-feet tall statue of Bahubali. As compared to Vindhyanagiri, Chandragiri was far less crowded, probably because it was lesser known and also because it is different trek altogether as people would have been exhausted after the trek to Vindhyanagiri. However, the place is no less interesting. I would strongly recommend readers a visit. Besides, the trek is not as difficult. Just about 200 steps. The steps are chiseled from a large rock. One must climb barefooted to the temple and hence it is recommended for visitors to wear socks during their travel; the rocks can get hot during daytime.
Chandragiri has memorials to numerous monks and shravakas who have meditated there. It also has the tomb of Chandragupta Maurya and the cave of his guru Bhadrabahu. An hour or two should be good for the visit. As for food and refreshments – Quick snack options are available around the temple area. One can opt for a delectable North-Indian Jain lunch at a walking distance from Vindhyanagiri temple entrance.

Wanted to visit this temple with a history. Went there around 6.30 p.m. and to my surprise it was closed and further surprised to know that it opens at 8.30 or so.
Anyways for prayers open or closed doors of the temple doesn't matter.
Temple is well maintained..

The earliest of all the Hoysala hindu temples, built by King Vishnuvardhana in 1114 C.E. (older than Belur's Chennakesava Temple by 3 years). This places is reachable via small detour on the way to Belur from Hassan.
This is an ancient and 900 years old temple situated in a very small and interior village- DODDAGADDAVALLI. This is not important temple of only Karnataka but of India. THE KALIKA IS SAME AS CALCUTTA KALI. THE MAHA LAXMI IS ALSO SAME AS KHOLAPUR MAHA LAXMI.We were very pleased for having great darshan here. Poojari washed feet of guru and welcomed us in to temple. We have never seen such a nice idols of Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, Vishnu and Mahadev situated in different angels. In front of Mahakali there is her brother Lord Vishnu and In front of Mahalakshmi there is her brother Lord Shiva. This never happens in any temple. We were allowed to get photographs also. There are idol of VAITAL in both outer side of Goddess Mahakali. I specially recommend to visit this incredible temple once in a life. HOWEVER THIS PLACE IS NOT FAMOUS AMONG TOURIST AS WELL AS TAXI OPERATOR. It is under ASI.

I have accidentally bumped into this temple while going to "Malekallu Tirupathi Hill Temple". It's situated on the way to the Tirupathi temple and in the Arisikere town.
I have visited almost all the Hoysala temples in karnataka and this architecture is comparatively unique in terms of doom structure present here.
Apart from that, as usual Hoysala's brilliance in architecture with highly ornated sculptures and as usual most of the shapes are ruined by invaders.
Its well maintained, can sit under the shade of huge banyan tree.
For location and direction search in G maps as Ishvara Temple, Arasikere.
Have a good day.
