A private island where Wyndham El Conquistador guests are often ferried for more water activities.
We loved visiting this island and did so for 3 days end of Feb/begin March. Each day we did a different activity ... however keep in mind you are a captive visitor so rental prices are high. On the same note, since there is only one option for restaurant on the island you pay for and enjoy what you get :) The bar service was good but restaurant service was OK. There is also a gift shop that sells ice cream.
Even on Sunday the island was not crowded but on the other side of the ferry pier there were many private/rental boats with loud music throughout the day ... we were fine with that music but if you want quiet then go around the bend and find some peace there. Around the bend it is scenic as well. If you plan to snorkel and swim, I'd suggest you have swim shoes (especially for kids). There is a smaller island next to it (small sand bar), that we were told has better snorkeling experience but you have to rent a boat to get there.
The ferry ride to and from was smooth sailing, the kids liked that part of the "beach trip" as well. From our perspective though it was ~ 45 - 60 minute from room to the island, as first you wait for the trolley down the hill, then you wait for the ferry (it was every 30 minutes on weekdays) and then the 15 minute ferry ride. So plan that in your day for beach trip. I wish they were open later than 5:00 so folks could stay and enjoy the sun set as well.

You will experience one of our Island's natural wonders. Kayak through las Croabas mangrove forest with your Eco guides in the glass bottom kayaks. Encounter nature close up as you paddle through the labyrinth of natural channel's that leads you into Laguna Grande. As the stars open up above you notice with each stroke of your paddle a swirling glow of light, like foot prints that pass behind in a
Our tour guides were a lot of fun!! They did an amazing job guiding around 20 of us through the mangroves in pitch blackness to the amazing bio bay! The experience was super cool! Having the “glass bottom” kayak was definitely key too, it looked like there was a meteor shower in my kayak lol. We saw actual shootomg stars out there too! Make sure you go when the moon isn’t full or when it’s cloudy.

Hacienda Carabali started 1972. As the years have progressed we have expanded to give great service to tourists and locals by our ATV, Horseback Riding, and Mountain Biking Tours, Restaurant and our Go-Karts Track!
Took friends on 2 hour ride and really enjoyed the experience. Problem was I have a bad hip but never even considered it when making reservation. Lot of pain during and after ride but it was still a great time.
Fernando and Kevin were GREAT. Very good job explaining everything, attention to detail, explaining history/background pertinent to Puerto Rican roots. Really interesting
and informative. They were also very attentive to riders during the time we spent with them, very helpful. Would highly recommend.

My wife and I were staying at the Hacienda Agua Viva AirB&B in Fajardo. On our to do list was to visit the EL Yunque Area. Our hostess, Iliana suggested that we try out JungleQui Zipline Park at El Yunque Rainforest. She told us a lot of the National Park was still closed off; but the zip line was open for business. After seeing all of the recent destruction caused by the recent hurricane, we were impressed by the work done by this company to be up and running again. Parking lot, main office, staging area, and restrooms were all cleaned up and in operating condition. If we hadn’t heard a generator quietly running behind the main building, we wouldn’t have known that the storm had been there. The zip line adventure was well worth the time and cost of doing it. Our guides, Frank and Brayan, constantly watch our every move to ensure we safe at all times. They were thourough in instructing us on how to safely use the zip line. We learned a lot about the El Yunque Rainforest, we laughed a lot, closed our eyes, yelped a few times; but we definitely had just plain good fun. Would surely use this company again for an adventurous outing.

What a great way to spend an afternoon after the rain forest or to just pack a cooler and hang out. We felt safe here. The sand is soft, the water was warm and we had a bit of wind and waves. We dug down in the water and found many live sand dollars. Parking is free and you might hear the music depending upon the spot you pick.

One of the three Bioluminescent bays in PR - others are in Vieques and in SW of Island.
Your typical excursion last about 2 hours. You kayak through the ocean for 30 minutes each way to the bio bay. Which by the way has more mosquitos than you could possibly imagine. No beer is allowed. I am not sure about other drinks. Now for our excursion company. I don’t recall the name of the company we used but I had no issues with them. They shortened our trip per our request. They let us bring an ice chest with beer and even carried on his kayak. I wish I could remember their name because I would give their efforts a good review. As for the bio bay. It is merely a mosquito infested swamp. These are the type of mosquitos that eat “Off” for breakfast. Some people in our group saw some visual effects of the bio bay. I did not. All the pictures you see online are photo shopped. The bioluminescence cannot be photographed. Look it up. This is not just me saying that. I have no idea why there are so many positive reviews. Also everything you have with you will be wet. We knew this going in but I just wanted to put it out there for those of you who may not know.
We did not use any shuttle services provided by the excursion companies but I read that some of those were about 5 hours long because you have to go to several different locations to pick up people.

2.4 acres of thrill and adventure await you at the family-friendly Coqui Water Park located at El Conquistador Resort. Featuring a myriad of exhilarating slides, rapids and a trendy restaurant and bar, the water park is guaranteed to bring non-stop fun to guests of all ages.
We stayed at The Las Casitas resort specifically so our 9 year old could do this Water Park. We were all hyped up about the million dollar renovation, but when we got there it was much much smaller then we expected, very crowded with locals, and drinks take an eternity for adults to get. I honestly would say skip this and take the kids to your local Water Park when you get back to the states. Nothing special, only 3 slides and a lazy river. You do everything very quickly.

The directions in other posts are correct. Ask a local and then keep your eyes open. Worth the search. Pay your $5 and have fun. Great time!!

My husband and I are non-swimmers so we always missed out on water activities. When we read tripadvisor reviews on snuba, we were thrilled that we could perhaps do this despite not knowing to swim. We missed our snuba tour due to some ferry cancellation as we were headed back to Luquillo from vieques. Instead of shrugging us off, Adam (the owner) was so gracious that he actually gave a separate tour just for us! Of course, it was a toned down version of the tour in the sense, we didn't go on a boat to a spot where the reefs could be found but nevertheless, he took the trouble to bring all the necessary equipment, and gave us about 45 minutes to an hour doing snuba. I opted out of it as I was not well but my husband totally enjoyed it. Adam was willing to give us the tour for free (for real) but we felt bad that he had to go to all this trouble just to give us the experience. Finally he charged us just $20- that included the training, the gear and equipment. He took pictures under water as well- we haven't got it yet but he promised that he will send it after he develops the films. We were going to do the regular snuba tour the next day but our packed schedule didn't allow us much time to do it. We will definitely do it the next time we are at PR and we highly recommend this tour to all! It is fun and a must do thing if you are at Luquillo. A special thanks to Adam for going out of the way and making this a memorable trip for us.
