Today was 55 deg F, sunny, little wind - beautiful afternoon to do a quick visit here. Nicest weather I have seen so far on my trip.

Don't compare this museum with the well-known museums in Bremerhaven (i.e. German Emigration Center, Maritime Museum, Climate House) if you don't want to be disappointed. Considering the fact that they charge only € 8.00 entrance fee for the huge Maritime Museum in Bremerhaven and € 8.50 for the "Zoo am Meer" in Bremerhaven the entrance fee of € 9.50 for the relatively small "Windstaerke 10" museum is simply too much. If they charged half of what they do it would be OK for this lovely local museum. If you're interested in local maritime history this is the place to go.

Superb free educational experience about the history and flagrant and fauna of the area. Highlights are the living sea creatures and the large collection of stuffed animals including European Bison and a Wolf!!!

Unfortunately, it was already late in the afternoon and the Schloss (Palace) itself was closed for visitors. However, I was able to explore the extensive Gardens. The autumn colours were magnificent and I very much enjoyed the tranquil surrounds. Worth having another look some day

This is where all the people are when then are not sunning or kicking the ball on the beach. There are many shops and restaurants and bars here. Every kind of gelato and frozen treat known to man and a lot of t-shirts and caps as well. Mixed in are some nicer hotels. It is easily accessed by several city bus lines though parking for personal cars may be a challenge.

If you like fish, this is the right place for you. Lots of halls where you can buy fresh fish. Good location

Nice beach attached to stunning miles of mudflats. Great for play in the mud and for walking, not so much for swimming! There are only a few places in the world like this national park. This is a good day trip, if you like walking and taking in the sky, the sea and the sun.
