Benicàssim (Valencian pronunciation: [beniˈkasim], Spanish: Benicasim, Arabic: بنو قاسم according to numismatic findings) is a municipality and beach resort located in the province of Castelló, on the Costa del Azahar in Spain. The Desert de les Palmes mountain range further inland shelters the town from the north wind. The name is derived from the Banu Qasim tribe, a segment of the Kutama Berbers that settled the area during the 8th century Moorish conquest of Spain.

It's a scenic and beautiful walk/ride on the path of an old railway. Very flat and enjoyable, full of locals.
The route is perfect for casual bike rides. My 7 year old had no problem riding it round trip. Me neither and we are not athletes. The scenery is amazing, it had tunnels, Bridges canons and it is 100% isolated from traffic. You can rent bikes from either Oropesa or Benicassim. A true delight.

Took a drive up into the Mountains and parked up near the monastery. A short walk along the road and then across a ridge (regular signposts point the way) to the ruins of Montornés castle. A fairly easy walk with rugged scenery and some really interesting ruins to explore. The whole area is fantastic with miles and miles of walks. Well worth a drive up (follow the road and it takes you back down again further up the coast) even if you don't get out and walk. There a couple of well regarded restaurants near the top, with a wonderful view and good food.

Walking along the esplanade, with the Mediterranean and beach on one side and these villas, one after another, facing the beach on our other side, was like stepping back into another time. As we prefer to travel in winter when no one is around, we were able to study these fabulous summer homes built by Valencianos at the end of the 19th and into the 20th century. There were about 20 of these, side by side, and some good commentaries on plaques told you who owned each one and a little of that sophisticated party life that went on a la Gatsby's parties. We still don't know what was meant by "the flower games they played" but we found it interesting that several of the villas were designated as being in "Hell" while others with less of a reputation for the endless parties were designated as being in "Limbo". Hemingway stayed in one while enjoying a love affair with another war correspondent. It was sad to see some of these once frivolously fabulous mansions falling into a bit of disrepair, especially Villa Elise which is now owned by the City and used for "social occasions". As we walked by one after another, we could almost hear the violins playing and smell the gardenias and citrus flowers.

The most fun water park around the Mediterranean is at Benicassim. Where is cooked the world best waffle. Open from June to September, has plenty of attractions. Each year they are improved to satisfy the requirements of a faithful and devoted audience. Among our attractions you will find: - Adventure River. - Black hole. - Dunes. - Little dunes. - Slides. - Pirate's cove. - Boa serpent. - Wrapped. - Wave pool. - Kamikazes. - Twin Tuister. - Lakes. - Spaceshot. - Swirl. - Devil's Leap. - The Kraken. And of course all necessary for spending the day with us. Cafeterias, bars, restaurants, waffles, lounges, free parking, bus parking facilities ...
We went at 3pm so got cheap tickets. Great idea.
We loved the slides - thought there was a big choice. My 5 year old loved the black hole!
My 2 year old was happy splashing in various pools, enjoying Fountains etc.
It wasn't too busy and seemed really clean. Queues weren't bad.
Would return.

Spain's premier music festival keeps the punters cool with late starts and early-morning, as in post-midnight, finishes. Old-timers join more recent breakthrough artists on an eclectic line-up rocking the Costa Azahar in mid July. U18s are welcome at the Iberian Peninsula's most family-friendly annual musical event.
Amazing festival for all ages, Benicassim is a beautiful place with fabulous Beaches. Festival is for all ages we have seen small toddlers (in the early evening) to grandparents having a fabulous time. Hire a car and visit the surrounding areas, there are some gorgeous views.

Only managed to make it to one day, but saw the whole place, was there from early, spent over 10 hours there! Great vibes, shops, vegan food and entertainment. TARRUS RILEY was amaaaazing, and so was Jah Shakka!!
There were FAMILIES with little children all the way up to elderly couples and everyone came to vibe and have a great time. People smoking spliffs, people drinking alcohol, hammocks, craft shops, art workshops, dancing, chilling... AND NO NEGATIVE VIBES, no stealing, fighting or anything. Loved it!

Visitas guiadas a la bodega y destilería, con degustación y tienda. Abierto todos los días, incluido los días festivos.
I liked Carmelitano tour, but I would have liked better guiding. It is interesting with local Distilleries, and it could attract more visitors if made more interesting. The possibility to taste the products and buy of them was good. Splending Spanish wines and liqueurs.
