My favourite restaurant in Colchester, probably in the world. Staff are always lovely and the food is gorgeous. I love that it comes as it's cooked so it feels really fresh and it is so delicious, even their plain noodles are super scrummy. But the best thing is the hot and spicy tofu, it's the best tofu I've had anywhere - it's the best anything I've had anywhere- and even my meat eater friends love it. The north hill noodle bar is a really special place.

Love the foid. Love the atmosphere. Love the friendly staff & service is great. I just wish that when I ask for a much smaller portion, they accommodated me- I cannot plough through the amont of food on my plate, even as excellent & tasty as it is. Older peopke just don't gave that kind of appetite but I can't knock the quality & value for money. Great pkace for family get-togethers.

Lunch offers quality home cooked food in a relaxed setting. We are proud to have been the first place in Colchester to offer pulled pork and its popularity keeps increasing. Such has been the success of the business we are now proud to offer gourmet burgers and have just introduced fries with our own secret recipe seasoning.
Interesting atmosphere, it may not look like much at first, however even their classic burger is filling, they offer a range of items such as salads and classic sandwiches originating in America, sandwiches and burgers in the style of places like Philadelphia or Kentucky, and the biggest benefit of going to Lunch is a quality meal for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.

We had considered vising this venue on several occasions and were not disappointed last week when we visited for the first time after receiving good reviews from people who had previously visited.
We were warmly welcomed by the friendly bar staff and when we were shown the menu and special dishes it was clear that the choice was varied. Staff were well versed in the dishes and were happy to explain the dishes on offer.
We have no problems with recommending the venue to our friends as we know from the service and standard of food is to a high standard.
We will be back for sure and sooner that later.

Had a great time! Daniel, was our server and could not have been more gracious. The food was delicious and plentiful, in fact, he brought us more. I highly recommend this experience. I had eaten there in March last year and as soon as I landed in England this time, it was the first restaurant after my flight.
Go have a meal, you won’t be disappointed!

Dr Chippy's is the place to go to satisfy your cravings of traditional fish and chips; with a variety of fish options to choose from and a wide ranging menu to suit all appetites, including a great variety for vegetarians and halal options available. . With the food all freshly cooked, cheap prices and fantastic portions, you won't find a better fish and chip shop in Colchester.
Pretty standard food but lovely staff. Price is average apart from drinks which are expensive in my opinion considering in town

Dropped into Noodle Zone with my sister and brother-in-law this week. I have eaten here several times before and really enjoyed the food. My brother-in-law is very well travelled and lived in the far East for many years. He is notoriously difficult to please as he has taste for very authentic Chinese Thai or Malaysia food. We all had a lovely meal and he was particularly complementary about the spices and flavours. Service was swift warm and pleasant. I personally really like the Malaysian dishes. All in all a great experience. We will be going again soon.

Hilary and Shelley have closed the Garden Café:
Don't miss this experience (they close from Oct-Mar). The grounds are beautiful, everything so relaxed, perfect for all ages-grandparents and children will love it, best of all though the cafe! Everything is home made, freshly prepared and seasonal including superb breads and the lightest, thinnest dessert pastry I have ever eaten. For me the celeriac soup is a triumph, so often the flavour of soup is overpowered by salty heavy stocks and over seasoning. If your opinion of salads is that they are generally boring, try these-red rice with cranberry, pistachio, carrot, perfectly dressed, aubergine and olive, potato salad, fresh fine green beans with peas and several others-all deliciously dressed and minus the unpleasant swimming in oil that often accompanies an otherwise OK salad. Dessert-the intense dark chocolate tart with fresh raspberries competes with any top restaurant in the county, pavlovas are a must. Excellent coffee and a small but interesting wine list including a new one for me Spanish Verdejo-perfectly matched with my meal. Friendly, efficient service.
