We went for a 90 minute walk around Erris Head during a brief visit to the area. Well laid out, the ground was dry underfoot when we were there which helped. Great views in all directions. Nothing too strenuous but a decent level of fitness needed to enjoy the route.

Carne Golf Links lies in magnificent unspoiled sand dunes overlooking Blacksod Bay and the wild Atlantic Ocean near Belmullet Co. Mayo in the west of Ireland. Carne was the last links course to be designed by the late Eddie Hackett and it is now believed by many who have played it to be his greatest challenge. The building of Carne has caused little disturbance to this wild and ancient landscape. Tees and greens occurred naturally and very little earth moving was involved in the course construction. Along the course are some breathtaking views over the Atlantic and the legendary Islands of Inis Glóire and Inis Géidh
This is a classic Irish golf course. It is how I imagine golf in Ireland was originally. Very little ground was moved. You just played around and through the huge sand dunes. A lot of blind shots. Get a caddyWe hope you enjoyed your visit. Carne is quite unique in its history and we aim to keep it true to its history and to a true Links experience

As you enter the Talk of the Town you will be welcomed by a friendly smile from a member of staff a roaring fire and some of the best and funniest locals around. 90% of the time the owner Kevin Campbell is there to welcome you with open arms. He will sit you by the fire, tell you old stories and the history of the local area point you in the right direction for tourist attractions and never let you go without a song, a tune on the accordion or one of his famous recitations. You will hate leaving this pub because it feels like you're leaving home.

Belmullet was a lot bigger than I expected, but worth the drive along the Wild Atlantic Way. The Blacksod Lighthouse is quite striking, and there's a lively downtown atmosphere. It's an intriguing, remote place that I'd like to spend an overnight in on my next trip to Ireland.

My daughter phone and was informed she didn't need a book a table for a party of eight, she popped in the next day, pick up a menu and again asked if she needed to book a table for eight people and was told no not necessarily.
We arrived later that day to be told no tables available when we explained that we asked if we need to get book and the girl had no answer.

We offer experiential tours along the Wild Atlantic Way. Activities include Coasteering, Kayaking, Snorkelling,Surfing and raft building and Mud Run / Assault Course. We are based in Belmullet in Co.Mayo
We had a great time at Wavesweeper over the bank holiday weekend. Paddy and Jack looked after us and were great at judging the level that the challenges were pitched at. We did the obstacle course and then jumping off the cliffs into the sea. I'm not a great swimmer, but they were so professional and safety-conscious that I felt very safe and had a great time.
Do bring old runners that fit well, as you may lose them in the bog holes in the obstacle course.
We were (not very fit) parents with (very fit) teenagers. All agreed it was the highlight of the visit to Belmullet.

The visitors centre was excellent, especially the Ginger and Wild Café, but the park itself was beautiful. We didn’t walk very far from the visitors centre but in a short time we enjoyed stunning views and beautiful flowers.

A mixture of beach walking on sand and stone then inland around Cross Lake. Stunning views looking over to Achill Island. We did the slightly shorter walk that took us along the westerly side of the lake and were rewarded with a wonderful show of wild flowers on the sand dunes. The walk was so quiet and peaceful with only a couple of people seen in the distance.
So serene, so calm............

Lunasa is a gift shop, craft studio and tearoom. It's a creative space that offers classes, courses and workshops as well as drop in activities such as paint a plate. We also sell our own and other local art and craft.
Ten months ago my husband and I moved to the Belmullet area. WIthin the first two days, I discovered Lunasa. It not only had unique, lovely, well priced gifts, but also Rosaleen, Tom, and Kirstie who made me feel so welcome, and helped me settle into a new life. Aside from the gifts though, are the furniture up-cycling classes, the photography classes, pottery, and the wonderful knitting/crocheting classes, that are far more than just knitting. It's like that perfect spot to share about the week, have loads of laughter, and still produce something in the end. You also need to know about the children's classes as well. In my mind a well rounded child is one who is exposed to not only sports, but also that creative side that teaches you to learn hands on. Really, this is just the tip of the iceberg in my mind about just some of what Lunasa has to offer. You need to pop by for a quick look, and end up staying an hour while discovering all there is to offer, and finding that perfect gift for yourself, or that special person in your life.
