Spend a day away of the tourism. With Nikos Papas, one of the most entertaining hosts.Follow him into another world, into his world. Spend an hour walking through delightful canopy covered terrain. Feet through the water flowing down a rivulet and emerge in the grot. Relax in a hammock over the lake. Plunge into the invigorating pool Meet his 'friend' the turtle. Drink and feast in the Greek style. It is an experience of a life time!
We were in a party that included us two Brits and a party of Dutch girls and a couple of Belgian families. The staff that met us at the road were fluent in all the languages.
we were driven to the start of the walk in mostly private cars which broke the ice straight away. After meeting the mad Greek that is the wonderful Nicos Papas we set off for our walk through the bamboo 'jungle'. Most of the walk is shady which was very welcome in August! Walking through (muddy) streams was also cooling. There are a number of places where you can drink from natural Springs but even though we were told we didn't need to bring water it would have been a good idea if we had. We were fed fruit along the way which added to the Bear Grylls feel to the day. Lunch was in a flooded area with hammocks and seats in the pool. Nicos provided hot traditional Greek fare from nowhere which was plentiful and delicious. We chose to sit at a table in the pool and shared our bread with the fish and turtles swimming in the water, but there were some seats on solid ground too.. This was the only place for a toilet visit after leaving the starting place (worth mentioning!)
It is a long day with a lot of walking over uneven ground and some climbing (which was optional) but that said, my husband is 71 and I had broken a metatarsal a couple days before the walk and we both coped easily.
Fully recommend this day out as it is so different from anything we had ever done on our visits to Rhodes.... loved it

A pleasant sand beach located next to the road full of restaurants. Some restaurants can serve you a drink right to you sun bed. Relatively empty, even around the noon time (maybe because of the low season in the beginning of October?)
Generally, the beach and the surrounding area gives you a nice relaxing feeling; I can’t say the same about some famous Beaches in Rhodes.

Visited with hubby last week on our to the Butterfly Valley.
Not the most interesting of Olive Oil Factory/Farms we have visited over the years but pleasant enough. They were not interested in showing you how Olive Oil is produced, pamphlet says, "during your trip you will be guided around the olive oil production line". No just wanted you to sample and buy their produce including wine, honey & cosmetics.
Bought a few gifts and headed on.

We have visited Rhodes many, many times and had never heard of this extraordinary place. These folks have sucessfully managed to round up a surviving few of these beautiful animals and carefully bred from them. You know how we always thought in the Greek carvings the artist had got the size of the soldiers wrong on the horses? Well they hadn't! They were the amazing Faethon. You have to see this to believe it. The Pub in Pefkos run a trip which includes this project, a few people doing a huge job.

Just so you know, ceramics are way outside my desire zone. Our tour stopped here. The presentation was pretty interesting and given by the owner. His 81 year old father is still working. I found all of the pieces to be interesting and no doubt very difficult. Skill is required. I just don't place this on my priority list.

A different room entertainment centre of archangelou ! The "secret" of your entertainment !!!
I visited this club several times, since it is one of the very few places to have a great night of disco-fever, dancing and drinks at that part of Rhodes. Definitely the place to be in that cosy village of Archangelos outside the overbusied places...MoreThank you very much Christos! I happy to see you again in this place!
