This is a park where you will learn stuff. For kids, it is a must do. Kids will enjoy the interaction with animals. They as well as you will also learn from the shows in the park. There is a lot of walking to be done. But there is also other transportation in the park, to be used from location to location. At a price. Animals range from cattle, farm, dogs, cats, This is a all day excursion. Make sure to take your walking shoes or running. But defiantly hiking footwear would be good. The main thing here is the kids.

PANACA, The National Park of the farming culture, is an agricultural theme park full of fun and interaction with the outdoor, where you can find 5 spectacular shows, 10 thematic stations and more than 4500 animals that formed the world's largest collection of domestic zoology with which you can interact and live days full of nature and emotion. PANACA is an interactive bridge between town and countryside, where through interactivity, learning and fun with purpose we make clear to visitors that there is no city without countryside.
If you are Reading this you did more research than i did. I have a tendency to be spontaneous and just go so today i attempted to see a coffee plantation and go to panaca. From amenia to Panaca it was about $100,000 pesos round trip . We arrived late in the day around 4pm and was told the park is open to 7pm. Since it was late they charged us only 52,000 pesos per person which with 4 persons is about $80 US dollars. The horse show was starting at 4:30 so we got a quick bite to eat. The horse show was ok. After that we walked about 2/10 of a mile to see the first animals and was turned back. The workers told us on mondays the park closed at 5pm. One of our group is from cali so we attempted a resolution with customer service. They offered entrance the following day but that was the day we are going home. I asked for half back since we were deceived but they refused . So as embarrassing a disaster this was and a waste of money, I will chalk it up to experience. I kind of felt the customer service would have been better. On a positive note, the small towns of monte negro and la kimbaya appear to be really cool with lots of cute shops and lots of people living life

The Park is a place that offers travel services for recreation, leisure and learning about the culture of the mule; through scenarios artistic, cultural and entertainment areas that make a range of options for visitors, enjoy a pleasant experience in their facilities. We are a staging where visitors are playful and recreational immersion in the culture of the mule in Colombia and especially in our region.
We visited the park with some of our Colombian family, and enjoyed our visit.
The lunch was surprisingly good, in particular the tongue dish (lengua).
The system here is that all visitors go round together, so it`s best to arrive early.
Although we enjoyed our day, there were some things that could be improved:
Comedy items were generally basic & crude, and not particularly suitable for children.
There were very few activities for children.
The highlight of the day for us was the display of the arriero` s skills, and the description of their lives. It would have been better to end the day at this point.
The rest of the afternoon`s performance was very weak, with poor quality singing & dancing, and more low level comedy. .
Overall, we would recommend visiting the Parque del Cafe (11 kms from Armenia) as a first choice.

Wonderful trip for 11 of my family members on a bamboo raft on Rio La Vieja. I travelled with 11 people. Three of them ages 5, 3 and 18 months.
Trip included Willy's jeep transportation from the main office to the dock and back, life vests, two guides and a delicious lunch (Fiambra which is rice, chicken, potato and plantain wrapped and cooked in a plantain leaf). Not a morsel was left at the end of lunch.
Trip involves approximately a five hour trip down river on Rio La Vieja on a bamboo raft. Very safe. Half way down the river you stop, and have the option of visiting a waterfall for a small fee ($2000 col. pesos). Spectacular!!!

We had a personalised tour of the finca Casa Vieja with Santiago, and this was one of the highlights of our trip in Colombia.
