Porthleven (/ˌpɔːrθˈlɛvən/) is a town, civil parish and fishing port near Helston in Cornwall. It is the most southerly port on the island of Great Britain, and was originally developed as a harbour of refuge, when this part of the Cornish coastline was recognised as a black spot for wrecks in days of sail. Nearby Loe Bar was particularly infamous, with swimmers and surfers being warned off the area. Porthleven has many large areas of social and council housing. An electoral ward called Porthleven and Helston South also exists. The population at the 2011 census was 3,059.

Vertical Blue Adventures is situated on the stunning historic harbour town of Porthleven. Ideally positioned to take full advantage of the stunning coastline that surrounds Cornwall. Paddle boarding, Kayaking and Mountain biking, as well as hire, sales and tours. We have something to suit everyone so come along and say hi!
Ian is a top bloke who absolutely loves his job. He doesn't get hung up on health and safety and isn't too precious about his kayaks getting bumped. We had a fantastic adventure going round the Cornish coast from Porthleven harbour. Would highly recommend. Amazing value for money. Thank you again, Ian.

Some people believe that King Arthur abandoned his sword Excalibur in Loe Pool, Cornwall's largest natural body of Freshwater.
Beautiful beach at the end of a good walk from Helston or a shorter walk from Porthleven, well worth a visit

A lovely harbour on a sunny February day. Surrounded by cafes, restaurants, pubs and boutiques. A lovely pebbly beach too with lots of rock pools to explore. I should imagine it would be heaving on a summers day with trouble parking, but off season it is lovely to stroll around with plenty of places to stop for a beverage. A must visit site in Cornwall.

This is a small but compact gallery situated right on the Porthleven quayside. It is well lit and material is well presented and the material is predominantly that of local accomplished artists and well worth a visit.
