We have got so tasty lunch there! Perfect location, just few minutes walk till Arboretum of Zirc. Very warm and simple service. There was a menu in English including dishes for children. Food not expensive and very delicious. I recommend chicken breast with dill sauce. We saw many locals coming there to lunch. Nice restaurant to lunch on the way to Balaton or before taking a walk in Arboretum. Thank you.

If you're looking for a home-like family restaurant, no need to look further. A 300-year-old mansion renovated and modernized. Excellent for families with children, couples who want to get away from the crowds, or anyone who like simple joys like good meals, comfortable beds and fresh air. Some rooms have fireplaces, where you can make it as hot as you wish. This year they're opening campsites for caravans as well as for tents. The bath facility for the campers uses solar power for heating the hot water and even won an architect's award. The region is great for hiking, the Cistercian abbey has a beautiful library museum, and lots of cultural stuff. Whether as a restaurant or as accommodation, this should be your choice.

I've been there in July after a whole day spent driving all around Hungary. I stayed in a near village (Penzesgyor.... not so easy to find a cheap hotel close to Balaton lake at the end of July) and the owner of the hotel told me to go to Marietta because the food was very good. To tell all the truth she suggested me to go to Marietta Etterem to eat a good pizza (I don't know I think why everybody thinks that all the italians can't live without pizza) but when I arrived there I decided to eat something different. Of course my son asked for a pizza with ham (I admit he liked it ).
There was a very nice cold soup with tomatos and ricotta (the taste remembered me the spanish gazpacho even if without garlic). I also had a wiener schitzel and it was large and very good. I drank only lemonade (maybe 4/5 lemonade... it was very good). The price was very low, the waiters very friendly and helpful (we arrived at 9pm without any reservation because of traffic jam on the highway to Balaton lake and they found a table for us in 30 seconds). The only problem was that the menu was only in hungarian or german. I can't speak any hungarian at all, I understand just a few words in german after spending so many times in Germany and Austria but thanks God there's Google translate and a lot of dishes were made with italian ingredients so I was able to understand what's in the menu.
I think it's a restaurant mainly for hungarian and german people but the team was very nice and helpful.
There are some parking lots just outside the restaurant. Well... let me add that it's not so easy to find it because it's not in town center without a GPS navigation software. I think it's not a restaurant for large group because it's very quiet and there're a lot of house all around the restaurant.
The prices were very low. we were 5, we have 6/7 lemonades, 1 lt mineral water, 3 wiener schnitzel pizza and so on ... we paid less than 10000 HUF more or less I think 40€. Definitly very good quality for price ratios. So if you are in Zirc, well... as an italian person I suggest you to go there even if you are going to have some troubles with language but don't be afraid ... the waiters and the owners will be very friendly and helpful.

Csodálatos környezetben, a Bakony fővárosában, közvetlenül az apátságot körülölelő épületegyüttesben található, családias, igényes falatozó. Évek óta járok oda a családommal, barátaimmal. A csirkemelles hamburgerük ízlik a legjobban. Ízletes alapanyagokból, friss zöldségekből készítik és árban is elfogadható. A kiszolgálás gyors, a személyzet barátságos, közvetlen! Aki Zircen tartózkodik, vagy esetleg átutazóban jár a környéken, személyesen is meggyőződhet az általam leírtakról.

We just dropped in from the nearby golf course.
The setting could be anywhere in Austria, nicely cut grass and beautiful garden.
The service was extremely friendly and with regard to the fully loaded sunday lunch, fast as well.
Our special requests (some of the silly like raw mushrooms) were perfectly fulfilled,
The cold cucumber soup with king prawns and the goose leg was 5star.
Keep up to these standards.

Just 600m from the castle parking lot on the left. Simple but authentic place with local meals, including deer, stew.
Ragu soup is excellent and I can recommend Zörög Órias. Feeds 2 person easy as includes 4 stuffed meat and 2 chicken breast.
Theo have free wi-fi.
Prices are moderate, good to stop after a Castel visit.

Our restorant is in the town Eplény, in the Ámos Mountain park, at the bottom of the ski slopes. We offer traditional BBQ and Grill foods, with new style, we recommend to try it!

Probably the worst restaurant in the area. But we are stupid enough to come back every single time we come to ski.
All of us had stomach problems 3 out of three times after having some fries. Probably something with the oil they fry stuff in.

We just find this restaurant on our way but it is really worth the time and the money. The soups were delicious and they prepared different main courses for us.
All was very good (the steak with eggs for example) and tasty. The waiters were nice and kind. The Terrace was very good and the view to the Mountains in amazing.
