Not sure about the singing, but the beach is fantastic! Soft, white sand that's perfect to walk in. We arrived around 9:30, hardly anyone was around at that time. The water was a great temperature for swimming.
All of the amenities you need are a short walk away. There's a boardwalk to take you from the parking lot to the beach area. And showers part way up to rinse off before reaching the car.

We stayed for a few hours. There's quite a few things to do. There's camping. A lot of people fishing by the river. There's a viewing platform you can hike to at the top of the hill for a nice panoramic view (You don't need to climb up the steep path by the playground, there's a path starting near the bridge further into the park). Peacocks walking around. I believe I saw a water park too. Since this is a small town, most other attractions are within walking distance.

DISCOVER the natural beauty of Basin Head and delve into the rich marine and natural history. ENGAGE with local wildlife through interactive demonstrations, on a beach setting, and explore the life that lurks in the lagoon. ENJOY a picnic encompassing seaweed collected from the beach, and learn a variety of culinary preparations.
A positive experience. Learned lots. The guides were very knowledgeable! Enjoyed trying the food items which had seaweed in them, including the biscuits which tasted good. The seaweed replaced the salt in the recipe. It was fun learning about the sea life caught in the net which then were returned to the water in the lagoon. I held a green crab.

Stayed in the Cottage next door. the lighthouse is a working Coast Guard Light.
Surprising to some the light did not bother us at night - it is aimed well out to sea - 40 feet above ground.
Beautiful classic Lighthouse shape - perched on a high bluff looking down on a beach and fishing village.
